I can assure you I won't be throwing any of my company's money your way if that mess above is what you consider a serious sponsorship proposal.

I asked WT why he helps out 2smoker so much, He has a 7year plan of where he wants to be he works heaps and every cent he earns goes to racing...
maybe if people see this then they may be keen.

Ivan, start showing results, like turning competitive lap times and getting decent results, and sponsership will come your way. I'd suggest doing a few training schools before buying go fast bits for your bike. Isnt this the same bike Jay Lawrence raced? Is doesnt need any more engine bits, just start riding it faster.

Ivan mate, you need to take a major reality check. I think the first thing you should be worried about is learning to ride, its harsh I know, but someone needs to tell you. You aren't very fast at all and the sooner you realise that the sooner you can start learning to get faster. You can have all the money in the world and the flashest most trick bits for your bike but if you're not able to ride it then you're still not going to come anywhere. You need to take a step back and then work hard at getting faster and faster. Then you might be able to start coming in the top 3 or higher and then you can go looking for sponsors and maybe go overseas. If you can't get in the top 5 at a NZ 125 meet then you're just wasting your money by going overseas.

    My 2c anyway.

Yes ivan, as friend to friend,

jay came second place last year on that bike, and it is still exactly the same as it is now.
so as K14 said, spend more time trying to figure out why you are going slow. If you go fast you get sponsors.

    Cheers, Glenn

oh and you know how you have trouble with spelling??,

what ever you want to post, write it in microsoft word or what ever that has a spell check and use it to correct spelling. So that it makes it easier for us to read.

    Gentlemen,
Cut poor Ivan a little slack. His heart is in the right place; he is trying to be reasonable and help fund his own racing.

But, Ivan spell check! – I know that it is a pain in the ass sometimes. I have to.
Even though this was a quick information gathering excise, it does reflex on your preparation. Money is the serious side of racing. People that part with their money want something in return. Ten years ago businesses received tax brakes for sponsorship / advertising, this is no longer.

So the question has to be asked why should someone / business give you money if it doesn’t benefit them? – You have to make them believe and see that it can.

Chin up mate. Its good to see that you give a damm, and that you are starting to realize that racing isn’t cheep.

    My 2 cents

    with ya there bert,

but as it is clearly visable, Ivan needs to spend a little bit more time and effort into the proposal before expecting money.

i have spent hours and hours making a formal contract for sponsorship, and i tell you it is very hard. i have one very seriously considering my proposal.

i would like to tell you but it is a business thing, ill keep it under my hat

but as you said, good on ya ivan for trying, just a little more preparation will go a very very long way.

and yes thats all of my 2 Cents
