So why not use something else then? Apparently Winamp is good.

An aside: read today that Microsoft have given up on writing IE for Macs. They havent released a security update for IE since June 03 (I think). They are suggesting that users use Safari, Firefox or Opera. Pretty interesting.

jesus, i don't understand how you put up with their substandard applications on your windows machines.
get an iriver or iaudio, or a toshiba gigabeat, and use some much better app that's written by a REAL software developer - not namby-pamby little apple.

Do you know how Fucken hard it is to write a program that performs well on a different OS?????
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

Yep, in theory its easy. In practice its not. Unless you have a brand new unaltered OS its farken hard to account for the unknown variables

Yeah...its an unashamble attempt by apple to corner the market off MP3 players. But to be honest those sort of practices are common to most of the successful global businesses (im not talking with any authority here).

On windows its real shit, and when I had a windows machine I hated it. It wouldnt work. I guess I solved the problem when I bought a Mac (not sole motivation by any stretch). I just used Winamp until then.

I think thats the problem with the whole windows buggy OS problem. Apple have a reliable hardware model to write their software for. Windows has a continuingly evolving market of hardware suppliers to condend with. Who knows what video card technology the windows developers have to contend with next week when their software gets released. I think the 'common man' gets frustrated when MS release an OS that looks as great as the competitions but they havent made a huge effort to fix the really annoying bugs. Maybe Vista will be a step closer.

Well lets think about that for a moment ........Thank f**k for that, IE is crap, safari is a far superior browser, for that matter mozilla is a far superior browser as well. I regularly use macs and PC's, and have been for years, I have to say that the mac and OS X Tiger is one of the best platforms for just about any appication I use.

Now think on this a little for a moment, at some stage in the new year apple will release their new generation of computer, with an intel based processor inside (fore going the motorola), this will entail a rewriting of OSX for the new machine, beta versions of this are already out there and this new version of OSX will run on PCs, so watch out for some options for all you poor pc users in the future.

I think the MacTel move is genius, but am really worried that Apple are moving into the shifting hardware model problems that MS have.
