Sintered Pads noise

Greetings,

I've just finished completely over hauling my brakes on the ZX-10.
I've got new discs and overhauled the callipers.
Just finished putting in new sintered metal pads.

I took the ZX around the block and boy do those brakes really work !!!!

However, I noticed that while pushing the bike back into the garage that they make a grindy type noise when you put them on.

Is this normal for these type of pads ?
Is it because they're new?
The disc isn't grooving or anything like that and all 4 pads are located still.

I've never actually used the s/m pads before and thought it may have been the metal content in them dragging but just wanted to check anyway.

do a couple of un-intentional stoppies huh ?

new discs, new pads, they'll just be bedding in

discs grooving did you have some good sounds going on the radio ?

I've finished it finally !! Hoping now it will FINALLY pass the brake declaration tomorrow so I can VIN it !!!!

the ZXR brakes play wee tunes to me all the time when i'm nana riding around town & when the old tart is being wheeled about i think its got mice especially going backwards

I hope so.
Boyles gave me a another rear hose which was slightly shorter but I re-routed and is all fine. I bled the rear brake and trhe calliper is now unsiezed too. It's still a little spongy and not that effective but I guess the new pads on the back need bedding in too (they're not sint. pads)

you did both sides of the rear caliper? inside one first then the outside one ?

how much shorter is the hose?

Yup, both the little and the big pistons out (after much hydraulic pumping !!)
(It's only a dual piston calliper, not 4-spot). Took the seals out and cleaned and refitted. Used 1200 on the pistons and cleaned all of the corrosion off them. Also regreased the calliper sliding pins too.
Refitted and rebled.

Brake action is good, but just needs a bit more bleeding I think.

The hose is only 20mm shorter and is not stretched at all anywhere on the suspension stroke.
