But does anybody know how Peter MacDonald is getting on?

He had an accident and was taken away by ambulance. I only heard about it over the loudspeaker. Everybody I spoke to had no idea how he was.

Best wishes Pete on a quick recovery and here's hoping it's nothing major.

For those of you who don't know - Pete's a good chap, salesman for Wellington Motorcycles and long time motorcycle racer.
We were in the same motel as the guy who was clerk of the course for the day and he was telling us that the worst injury was a broken ankle for Lance Lowe. Alot of spills but nothing serious.
Thanks for the company over Gizzer. I was kinda glad we decided to stay the night. Was a little buggered by the time we got back to the room. Had a good ride back today although there was still a few cops lurking.

Well - yes - you had quite some velocity on - bit of a fright when you think - "will I pass these 2 bikes before this corner or not, check your mirror and see a fuckin guided missile looming up large...!Still havent got my corner confidence back up yet, but good to meet up with you, Scott.
I bimbled up from Palmy and wandered around - saw lots of KBers around - finally met Dangerous, Rashika and Kickaha (and Joni), after riding from Paraparam to outside Palmy with them, the day before...saw lots of the Welly crowd around in various places, Inlinefour, Eman, Scroter, Sudeep and others.Good to catch up with Mitch again.
Anyone know exactly what happened to Lance Lowe - the guy I was talking to said he had made contact with another bike which bent his brake lever out - when he went to grab the brake for the bridge - oops - he missed it!
Was pissed off (along with several hundred others, at being stuck in the inside, when they didnt open the crossing gates for over an hour!!! Not good, organisers - if they hadnt opened them after the bin in the F3 race - there would have been a bloody riot! But - some good racing - Kirk - you were going well - did you have a bit of a coming together with another bike in Holden corner, there? Chris was going well - hard to tell where he was placed though, with all the bloody motards in F3 though. And Logan was not being totally disgraced on the "still 400". Good to see Jason get out and go in the first RH memorial race - almost back to his old form, and Shirriffs..!!!
The sunburnt feet were not really welcomed, however...

Not quite, he's good, but don't think he's good enough to keep up with the guys on 1000's and 600's on his 400. Came 3rd in the invitational for the fastest 40 qualifiers after the 30 that qualified for the robert holden memorial.

He's a bit OK. Gotta have surgery on his ankle, dislocated elbow or shoulder or some such shit.

Serves him right for being amonst other riders. Shoulda been way out in front.

He had surgery on Boxing Day night, on his ankle. No bone grafts, thank goodness, but this accident on top of previous injuries meant that the surgeons had their work cut out for them. The suspected dislocated elbow turned out not to be, although he'd obviously taken quite a whack to it because it was very swollen. Not sure what the story was with his shoulder & I think I heard mention of ribs, but can't confirm.

Mitch stayed in Wanganui and will be driving him back to Wellington once he's been released.

Nice to catch up with so many KBers. Those t-shirts are way easy to spot in a crowd & they were everywhere!!!

The Man qualified 38th in F3 & finished his first race in 35th position. He didn't manage to start his 2nd race, thanks to leaving the fuel tap on after the 1st race & hydrauliking the valves with excess petrol. Mitch got out there, but #47 lost all its get-up-and-go, so she pulled back into pitlane when the red flag was waved.

The Man spoke to Jason McEwan who was absolutely rapt with his 2 3rds in the Robert Holden Memorial races. They were apparently "as good as a 1st place finish" in his mind. We were sure cheering him on from the sidelines, that's for sure!!!

It was a great day, but The Man has decided not to race there again. It's a really long day for just 2 races, so you'll see us there next year on our bikes, as spectators. Probably very drunken spectators.

Still have more power on three than that Italian shitter you ride

bit slower up the hills and more difficult to pass but still sat about 110-120 all the way home
