    Hello Wellington!!

    Hi you Wellingtonians,

I am riding down from Auckland to Christchurch tomorrow, probably arriving in Wellington on Thurs/Friday. I haven't booked a slot on the Ferry accross as this is a last minute thing and I have no credit card. So I intend to sort it out when I get there. There is therefore a possibility that the trip accross to Picton with the bike maybe prohibitively expensive or fully booked.

So the question is... if that is the case is there anyone in Welly (preferably near the ferry terminal) who can look after my bike for a few days, as I will go over as a foot passenger and bus it/hitch it down to Chch? Just a corner in a garage or somat like that.

    Cheers

I've got garage space, but I'm out in the Hutt, prob 20k away. Let me know if you don't get any nearer offers.

Try the bluebridge ferry rather than the InterIslander. Their price doesn't change for peak/off peak seasons. Its $95 each way for bike and rider. ($50 for the bike and $45 per person).

My garage is available too, but it is about 15kms from the ferry terminal. Happy to drop you off at the ferry if need be.

You shouldnt have too much trouble getting a slot for your bike on the ferry, if you are prepared to wait for the next sailing if one is full - the early morning and late ones often have gaps. And try the Bluebridge Co as Jantar suggested - often cheaper.

Yeah Dude, I've got two bikes departing my garage in the morning - hence plenty of room for some more. I'm about 20km away and can provide a drop off if you need also, but as the others said - You won't have trouble getting a spot on a ferry.

Does anyone know if the "Motorcycling New Zealand" group booking code still working?

Thanks for the replies. Dafe I have taken your number just in case. I'll cruise down tomorrow and see what is going on with the ferries. Never heard of blue bridge so I might give them a try if neccessary.

Sniper has given me heads up on a possibility on the other side of the strait. I'm out of here (Auckland) early tomorrow, so if you any one wants to contact me they can call me on 021 215 8689.

    Enjoy your hols.

Great, now that I have checked the map to find out where Hataitai is, you are very close to the terminal.

Can I get your number? I am leaving here in an hour or so, so would it be possible to txt me it? I'll call you if I need the space.

    Cheers
