Thanks for the encouraging news Weasel.

Actually, I've experienced that while it may be horrid weather in Ak, it's the total opposite in the Coro Loop!

    Hey... I do my best.

Well the last time we went over it was all cloudy and nasty looking in Coro, then head over the hills and it's lovely and sunny.

Would love to tag along but my bike is in the shop at the moment. Put it in for a service while I was away over Christmas but didn't get it back before they closed for New Years etc. Bit of a shitter.

Been thinking of doing this route as a figure 8 sometime - start at Kopu, go to Paeroa then Waihi and Whangamata, over the Kopu Hikuaui's to Thames for lunch, then up to Coromandel, to Whitianga and the Coroglen for a lemonade **cough** , then down through Tairua, over the Kopu Hikaui's again and head for home. Might have to see who's up for that a little later on.

    Oh, and clockwise ftw thanks.

    sounds like fun.

would have enjoyed tagging along but for the small factor of not having anything to ride. unless someone has a spare seat ??? hint hint

clockwise would be my pick, as (IMHO) the longer, more demanding ride is up the coast and over the whangapoa/matarangi/kuotunu hills. makes for a more relaxing ride home via tairua/kopu/hikuai and it's an easy extend to turn off and go home via whagamata/waihi/paeroa if you're keen to ride longer.

Hi Guys , Ive just driven up to Hahei, and seriously team if you want to pick a ride you couldnt have picked a worser one, there are freckin cars every where there are traffic jambs at Tairua both directions, and you would have to stop its in a word a nghtmare, the roads are jamb bloody packed and you would have to like cars.......alot.
I recommend changing your plans and head around Waikato area, ie 22 TeKuiti (back raods) you decide but dont say I didnt warn ya !!!

i'll be doing coro regardless. and the hp guys will be filtering back to their home bases in the next day or so. there will always be plenty of cars up there on a public holiday, especially the last one like tomorrow. fortunately everyone will be going one direction

8.53pm: Currently looking outside and it is a red sky!!

He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. Matthew 16:2-3
