yes.. and yes. I won't tell you what i do for a living

make sure your settings say use packet data when needed, not all the time as when your in poor coverage areas, Check here, the performance/quality will be questionable.

Other than that should be all good?! You enjoying it? made any video calls yet?

Had one ( here in Japan) ...gave it up , now use a cheap vodaphone prepay and a wireless modem in me pda ( unlimited connection 64k and 1/2 the price of the 3g ...)
be interested to hear about NZ experience ,,,( yes you can see the person who you are speaking to ,,,but its the wife ,,,and I sorta remember what she looks like anyway ...)

I am considering getting it, I just dont know if it is worth it. I will need a new phone and the monthly charges will depend on how much is used. So still wondering if it is worth upgrading.

The main reason I am looking at 3G is because I would like to receive / send emails using the phones interface. This would allow me to communicate with people overseas while on the move. SMS is great but restricted to 160 characters and it must go to another GSM phone. I know in Japan they have this and it is very useful. I was just wondering if it can be done with Vodafone 3G.

    haven't tried video calling.....

hi mate, you can get a 2g phone that will allow your phone to send and recieve emails; have a look at the blackberrys or the 3g equivelant which is the i-mate jasjar ; upto you really, the latest and greatest is 3G which will let you roam and send to any country, unlike teleskum.

Cant tell you how much it costs as mines paid for by the business, Anyhows happy hunting and enjoy what ever ya get

Most of the high end GPRS capable hand sets have a pop3 client in them. My K700i does as did my T610 and T39m.

Works a treat as long as you're not an xtra customer cos Telecom are a bunch of fags that wont let you check pop3 mail from someone elses network dor 'security' reasons.
