Sounds like the old main highway when it went through a bit called Earthquake Gully. When it was cut loose by the re-aligned main road, the local early settlers put in that mound to stop 'sightseers' from discovering their crops.Originally Posted by FROSTY
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
Traveling on a country metal road over Christmas on which I travel a lot, (usually on our bike) I experienced some rather shady practice by the local residents.
I seldom travel with my lights on but do put them on when I have a premonition of something ahead. (Have these things quite often).
Locals in their 4x4's drove in the middle of the road deliberately forcing us (in our Suzuki Baleno wagon) into the side of the road. Three vehicles in succession.
These people are well known as neighbours to the family we were visiting but they did not know who we were or why we were on "their" road.
There is a new DOC facility at the top of the valley beyond their property.
While they may well be pissed off with the increased traffic to it, I don't think their behaviour was justified or reasonable.
I know that if they had realised who we were they would not have done it but I was surprised, pissed off and disappointed at their behaviour.
At the same time, I do not blame them for their attitude, having seen some of the dickheads who go up their road now to the DOC facility.
Two wrongs don't make a right, even in today's shitty social climate.
Where will it end if we all lower our standards to that of the arseholes. :spudwhat: What perfect world? John.
