Buckets/Motards, Manfield short track: Sat 25 feb 06

Yup, running on the back section of the track it is a lot more open than a kart track but it is still pretty keen trying to keep the gas on in some of those bits & not as much of a power cct as you may think (where the long track sure is).

    Be there

You'd be surprised. Gearing should be raised, but the only straight is not any longer than Kiatoke backstraight,. . . just it's entry is much faster.

The back cct was reputably commissioned for Toyota’s testing & consequently pretty tight & dead flat. Just like most roads. Still not complaining, suits us fine & the small connecting road to link it up is nice & curved.

It is great bucket track, it will sort the men out from the boys, some of those corners are very fast.
I'll be there with bells on.
We should make sure that some of the Hawks Bay come over.
Maybe we could have a Manawatu GP ????

Actually MNZ main sanction rules do not permit Bells or Horns/ other warning devices I believe.

Having said this I used to run one of those really loud compressed air horns at 2 hr meetings for a giggle. Scared backmarkers out of the way pretty quick & no official ever said a word.

This sounds like a good opportunity to bring out the bucket for its north island debut. How much is entry?

$35 sounds pretty decent to me. Costs $30 at ruapuna for an afternoon meeting on the B track.

What are those other classes? S1, S2 etc?

Super motard I guess. They will adjust the classes depending on how many of which turns up.

Should be able to put up any South Islanders if they want to break the trip up, we are 30 min from ferry & 1 -3/4 hr from manfield.

Have a little bit of off street parking.

Yea we need to get a little more interest in the buckets..... it has dropped considerably (mainly because Mr Scullion hasnt been there for a while) but if we get the word around enough.. it should be a good turn out!!

I hope to kick some arse..... maybe not jays, but someones

Neighbours dog is always a good target. Chances are he’s barky & deserves it & as long as the neighbour doesn’t see you it’s a victimless crime.

. . .well apart from poor old Rover, but we’ve pretty much established that he had it coming.

Course if you don’t do it hard enough he’ll bite you fer sure.

That sounds like fun. I get the cast off my (broken) wrist the week before...

    should I?

    It's pretty tempting.

No sidecars I imagine, they are really running it as a supermotard event & buckets tagging along, but should get 6 races which is well enough to make it worthwhile.
