No idea at this stage. I want to fit a chamber at the same time so my plan is to find out the rev range I'm using then make a pipe to suit.

Had a go at a rev counter on the weekend (OK, so it was Sunday night). The 'test bed' worked OK. Good wave on the oscilloscope and in the right voltage range. The AX was putting out up to 30 volts on the feed we used (a yellow wire) and we knocked this down with resistors to 1.9 to 5 volts (depending on revs). But when we wired it all up properly on the bike it turned to crap. Readings went everywhere. Oh well.

Boyles have a hour and rpm gauge for $97 but the readout is small.

Dick Smith have one that is a complete multimeter but the HT pickup is huge (think of something a little smaller than a VHS tape...) for $99.

Both are a lot of money. Might try the 'homemade' one again.

    Onward and upward.

Edit: gear linkage is done now too. You can kick my arse RG...

na Thats no fun. Its better if there is a bit of a battle in the mix.

thats why i think the fun of buckets is going down hill.
to a point (myself included) people are getting cool bikes that are hard to keep up with unless you have the same sort of machinery.

this is why i have brought my new/old bucket. So i can remind myself about the fun factor.

Ps: i will be kicking baydens arse by all means possible. Yes that involves elbows

The fun factor is the only reason I'm doing it. If it ain't fun I ain't doing it.

    Thats abit harsh RG
Half the fun of buckets is the building and re-building, and then completly starting again.
I don't think the fun has gone out of buckets, It's ment to be a challange, yes someone is alway going to have a faster or cooler bike, but It that way in life.

Going down hill i don't think so, if what i saw in wellington in Nov has any reflection. everyone came over and helped me and even gave me a bike to ride (thanks F5 dave).
The sprit is still there : a Few good old fashion Kiwi's all having fun.
    ITS ALL ABOUT THE RACING..

on a more positive note I'VE Nearly finshed the toy (a couple more nights). should be no reason not to be racing now.

Dont really think he'd give a rats arse if you are allright or not.... and you most likely saved him the job of rooting the bike

    ...

    I don't

I'd rather he rooted himself and saved the bike

    - MADE UP ON DAY NUMBERS WILLING, BUT LIKLY AS FOLLOWS
    - SPORTMAN UNDER
    - SPORTMAN OVER
    - S 1
    - S 2
    - QUADS [RACING TYPE]
    - BUCKETS

OK visited the Bushriders site on Silver Bullet and the first bit of info I see is to check out their FEB 1999 newsletter!

Has anyone here been to one of these before and if so what bikes get riden in the Sportman under and over classes?

I get the inpression this meeting is mainly for motorcross riders that want to have a go on tarmac. Or is the track true Supermotard style.

From the Silverbullet site info I'd say it is tarmac only.
