Boy you can be full of it on here . Hamish’s bike hasn’t run 15hp for very long if in fact ever at all. Never when I’ve race against it that’s for sure. I suspect that is just a number to wind everybody up. Working isn’t it? Has anyone ever seen these dyno curves? Because I have & I've never seen 15 on his or any 50.

I remember when it made its step from 10hp to 12. That wasn’t long ago & he has had it drop back with crank problems. Further, peak hp isn’t as important as spread. Bike engines don’t have infinitely variable gearboxes so a mean average power is more relevant.

A bike with 12hp can be faster than a bike with 15hp if it has a higher spread under the curve. Example: on the only Right hander at the back cct on sat you will have heard my clutch being given a hard time despite being in 5th gear. That’s ‘cause it was struggling to pull the higher gear so needed to be revving higher to make more power.

But any time the clutch is being used the power is not being transmitted to the ground. Compromise. If I’d had a nice juicy 100 then it would have had the torque spread to pull through it no prob. Problem is worse with taller gearing as the gears are further away during changes.

But Hamish is an enigma. When he gets himself sorted out he is probably the most talented racer we have, but that neck injury he got from his RS250 will probably be with him for life. That’s why he doesn’t race at every meeting.

yea i Know what its like to have a narrow power spread.......

thats why i sold my Yellow RG100 in favor of my FXR. Sure it was slower but is easier to ride.

But then also YOU need to think about that frame of yours. At manfield its all about keeping the speed up. And you said it your self.

Going over that join on the right hander my bike turned to shit big time. It was hidious. (sp) And thats the limit of my skills, and the bikes suspension. Im sure you could go over it realitivly easy on your GP frame.

So i have a better engine in terms of power and spread.

you have a better frame in terms of weight and suspension.

    I think we are even.

(PS..... I was told 14 or something similar from Hamish when i was at tauramranui)

    And you believed him.

Yeah & I've picked up another couple of hp since the last meeting (on the way home -they were hitchhiking).

& I AM thinking about my frame. It is superior & you can never beat me. I'm fitting Ohlins fork internals & a carbon fiber swingarm (painted silver so it will look like the old one).

This is too easy, like shooting fish in a barrel.

Dormented twisted clown, your passport has been cancelled you may NOT return to the Mainland .

I call for a two part inter island meet. NI kart track and SI long track, winner takes all (any corporates what to have naming rights for a inter island battle) .

in my van .if i take out the dog boxes i could get about 5-6 buckets in it...+ gear....
it will only (legally) fit 3... but i'm sure we could get a few more in... may not be comfy... but what do i care? i'll be driving..lol

I think we had 7 in Dennis Charlett's van on one trip south. Plus all the gear for the riders

I think it's a great idea. Of course the South Islanders would have to turn up rather than make excuses just before the event...

I could fit a few buckets in my van and provide a back seat for passengers.

Nah I can have two awesome ideas in a year, my second would be to not let you know where/when the meetings would be. You would have some girly reason to not be there anyway.
