After sitting on a Bar Stool for so long, I wouldn't mind reminding myself what the floor feels like!

We don't need a bike for that.

Boys boys!...now lets all hug and give me your bikes. Now thats better.

Sure poos...I 'could' let you ride the 'bag, but then you 'could' wheelie it too. Im not falling for that trick.

I did say yesterday that I need to try a GSXR600..."hey, the K5 GSXR750 is essentially a 600 frame aint it?....wooo...poos has one!".

    Hey Skels,
I don't mean to have a go at you....but.....the 'testing' that I witnessed just the other day could not have given you a true taste of what these bikes are built for.
The Gixxer.....do I need to say what that bike's all about?....how would you know, you barely got the thing moving to find it's true essence.

Blackbird.....I think you got the gist of that machine, a mile munching super cruiser....evil on the straights but a handful in the twisties. You could sit on that bike all day long and hop off feeling good.

SV....That thing is so easy to ride. I'm glad you like the noise and vibes but you haven't experienced the SV at full song, try it, it will make you feel like you've woken up.

Hyobuttbag.....not much to say there....time to move on.
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy

No problems there. I guess I was assessing the ergos more than anyting else. And a little of the sensation....noise etc. I got enough of an idea from each bike (maybe not the SV...fair enough) to think about what I might like, or what I have been missing. Made me think more about the sprotsbike option though...Daytona 650's are/will be cheap.

I remember being shitscared of the size of a 400cc the first time I got off of the 250.
Agreed. Respect to you Skelstar!! I'd be too shitscared to do the same. I'm sort of in the same situation, started learning on the VTR250, now wanting to learn more on something bigger. Too shitscared to test ride anything, so bought an SV650S (Black K5) on reputation as a great learners bike, and "lots of fun for beginners or experienced riders". Bought the VTR 250 the same way and have been thrilled with it. Had to put some new tyres on it after 7500km, Sport Demons, and they have transformed the bike, so much more fun, and safer too, I think.

I figure going to a 650 isn't too big a power hike, and from what I've read here putting some good tyres on and tweaking the suspension at some later stage would make it even better! ( Actually might do the tyres immediately)

Curious to know how you missed out on the CBTA, Skelstar. I started in September and just passed my CBTAF today! Have done over 8000km, none commuting, and thought that was a lot till I saw what you've done!!

I got my learners in July, didnt see much point in doing the CBTA course to my restricted ($375) then my full ($375). Im a tight so I thought I would wait until Jan 18, and just pay once...R->F. Thhat kinda backfired, but I guess I only have to wait three...long...months until I can get it normally.

Sounds like you should do your suss asap. FROSTY is posting about upgrading in another thread which talks about the relative merits of a SV650 compared to a GSXR600. Check it out. And have fun.
