Talking Hi there from a newbie :-)

Hi and thx for this fab site.
I am new to the KB site and to motorcycle riding - well in reality not new just a reluctant beginner. I got my Learners licence over 6 months ago and my bike (GN125) soon after. Since then I have amassed the grand total of 88 k on the bike and now have a flat battery - being sorted out as I speak.

2006 is going to be the year for me to master this biking - well at least ride to work and home - so am keen to hear of any planned rides etc in the Auckland - North Shore area.

I am a relatively 'old dog' and I AM GOING to learn new tricks.
Look forward to hearing from anyone who can offer me great words of advice or even anyone who just wants to say hello.

You could have just used the other post. But no worries, it takes time to get a handle on things - just like riding. The more you do it the better you'll become.

Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

Thx. I feel a bit lost at the moment but I think I am answering your reply. As you say it does take time and I will get better at this and riding.

    Cool

    Welcome to KB.

Practise and practise.... and take care out there on the roads..

Check out the "Meetings and Events" section on here.... and join in on any SLOW or Newbie rides.. please dont go on any that state FAST rides...

There are few who are willing to take out newbie riders to help you learn to ride better.... and pick up on riding skills.

If you need a hand put your hand up and someone will come out to show you the ropes..

Welcome. I felt a bit of an old dog when last September I got back into it after some 20 years out of the saddle.

I was terrified to begin with but now I ride into the Auckland CBD and back every day without major mishap (yet) .

I think of riding a bike as being a bit like learning a special dance because your entire body is needed to do it well. Add a breeze in the face, and it makes driving a car seem just downright boring.

    Enjoy.

Welcome to the site ennead! Being a bit nervous is healthy, but too much isn't. Have you done any courses? The BRONZ course is good and may just help with the confidence thing.

Haven't heard of the BRONZ curse. What is it.
Have done the Basic Handling course 3 times. First time I did enough to get my licence, 2nd and third with another provider and I felt really good at the end of it. Enough to get on the road and ride around. Have been quite slack and as soon as my bike is fixed will be making an effort to get back out there.
Pray for fine weather and no wind.
