Not for soft co*ks that think 400km is a long way. Be prepared to ride overnight in the rain with some roadworks. Anyone scared of a bit of metal to Cape Reinga is not up to this.
By the way the busa should eat this sort ride up no problem at all.

I like the look of the 5-day tikitour but I think work wont let me off for that long....... (just yet...)

What the story with this years challenge? I had a quick look but couldn't locate the info - are they using the 5-day tikitour as the challenge this year instead of the 1000mile?

Sorry for the thread highjack. No this years GC will be special as it is the 20th for the Rusties (best PM Lee Rusty). I probably won't be doing the GC this year as their Tiki Tour is going to be one hell of a drain on my finnances, but highly recommend you try to do this year's GC as I'm sure it will be an awesome one.

we havn't sorted a place in Ahipara yet but it shouldn't be to hard, if it's cool we'll give you a call on sunday morning, meetup and leave our gear at your camp site and do the cape trip with you guys, i dont think we'll be sticking around too late in the afternoon as we'll still have a couple hundred K's to cover to get down to tutukaka

as for the s that only like day trips, we only travel during the day, we just string a couple of them together and some hardcore nights in between harden up and ask mummy for permission
