    Smile Hello

Hello all - I've finally decided to hop on board this site. It's mighty impressive I must say. Well, i'm situated in Welly, and looking to get my RZ500 back on the road as it threw a rod just over a year ago...

Been lazy as since then, with the machine in storage. But now, I feel the time is right to get her smokin' again.

Well, I look forward to chattin to y'all and generally checking out the sight and getting back into motorcycling again.

    Welcome to the site marrobham!

I hope you get your RZ back on the road soon, you'll have to look up the Meeting & Events forum for local rides down that way...if you're into group rides that is?

Good to see another RZ500 rider. I see you have the jap import aluminum framed RZ, quite light. Have you derestricted it yet from 68hp??
    Hope that the recon goes smoothly. I have a 86 RZ500N at 26,000KM plus a H2 750 triple.

Gidday Kalz, ahh, you've got the NZ model - groovy. Yeah, derestricting was one of the first things I did, and it helped, but even then the motor was a bit baggy so I probably didn't end up with anywhere near the HP you've got.
Slight worry over rebuild before I've even started it: paid for a top crank, head and barrell from a guy in Canada 11 weeks ago and it still hasn't arrived.
Nice low ks on your machine I see- it still running factory bores?

Hello, top end and maybe a crank rebuild too. chassis etc is good 'tho the shock also needs a rebuild and forx rechromed or renewed... it might realistically be next spring now. But we'll see how it goes.
