Surely the rain would reduce the friction?

What say I bring 'em along on Sunday for anyone who might be interested.

They are being printed as I type, so I should have 'em on Friday. Cutting it fine , I know but fingers crossed that I'll have 'em in time.

I think I spoke too soon. Just had word that the printers have had a mechanical breakdown and the flyers wont be ready till next week.

Have fun and take care out there

Im heading from Avondale, into the city to pick up 1 or 2 people and then onwards.
If people want to meet up in the city, Domain ect, PM so I know who and how many to wait for,
Just as a note tho, if its raining, I wont be a riding due to not having a rain coat
it only takes about 20-30mins to reach Botany downs if your doing a desent speed, ie the LEGAL road speed limit, maybe with a bit of lane splitting if traffics around.

    Question free back seat ?

Does anyone have a free back seat going for this ride.
I've got a mate who wouldnt mind taging along, but he lacks an essential thing, a bike.
he's got helmet, gloves and jacket tho. (Any one got spare pants for a 6f2 92cm waist guy ?)
theres probably some petrol money involved to the one that does to either question.
Pillion on the back of a 250, doesnt just cut it.

Sorry just to clarify, should us newbies be having L plates on and chance it that there are no cops?

That choice can only be made by you.
Read the disclaimer as posted previous in post.
I know a few people that use their L's to hide there plates
But unless you want to risk a $400 for lack of a crappy peice of plastic, ride with L's and dont go over 70K's

Completely up to you. When I was a learner I rode at 100 with the L on at all times. Never got pulled up, but that was me.

If there are people that want it, we will be running both 100km/h and 70km/h groups. Its up to you as to which speed you want to do.

If you want to ride at 70, it would be nice to have the L on, because then the motorists behind can see whats going on.

I am really looking forward to the ride. It is the wife's birthday and she is going out buying beads with my sister. Any idea of the duration of the event? The weather forecast looks fabulous. I got my full L just before Christmas and I am keen to continue the learning process. Still got my 250 but keen to chat to others about the pros and cons of some of the bigger bikes.

    VERY IMPORTANT - Changes

Due to my ride today, we have found that, while there is the odd loose stone, the section of road from Whitford to Brookby has now been sealed, meaning we can use it. The tight corners coming into Kawakawa have also been resealed, awesome.

This only changes the last section of the route. We will still be coming back to Clevedon, and using Twilight Rd. But then we will turn right, and head back to Whitford, instead of Brookby, Alfriston etc.

    We changed because:
    1. Easier route for group leaders
    2. Shorter distance for learners - when learning, you get tired quickly.

The stop on Lyons Rd, next to Paparimu rd (near Mangatiwhiri) has been moved to a gravel space right next to SH2. Turning off SH2, the stop will be right there.

    All other details remain unchanged.
