Ok... could be a better idea.

I'll have to look at some maps, I've never done either route so will need to see which way to go

I wouldn't mind giving you 1-1 preliminary sessions.

go away, I already propos.... *cough* offered

nah, I pm'ed him, we'll probably tootle along this weekend. Then he can see what he thinks. Easy to underestimate a ride when its a local track you use often.

Weasel going through first time, we can identify bad points.

It doesn't really matter which road you take, but whether you take it safely or not. That is the whole point of the exercise. A road is a road, they have corners . . . some left, some right . . . crikey you might even come across some traffic. The more you ride, the more you learn, if you're not confident ask and ride with someone who is. Like I said, it doesn't really matter which road you take.
    It is what it is

That's true patch, but obviously a quieter road would be better for a large pack of new guys to ride on.

Shall take a ride out there this weekend to see what the road is like, and weather the fish and chips are a good as everyone keeps saying

OK, tentatively, this will be the meeting point.

Botany BP. Just across the road from Pak 'n Save and the Warehouse, next to Harvey Norman. Access from Chapel Road if you want.

If coming from city, head along the motorway, take the South Eastern Highway turn off, and once over Waipuna Bridge, turn right at traffic lights onto Ti Rakau Drive. That will take you all the way to Botany. Past Paradice Ice Rink on your left, through 2 traffic lights, next traffic light, turn left, and you are on Chapel Rd.
