I found it quite easy to pass them on straights and I kept up with them on corners. I naturally assumed my bike was faster instead of me being a good rider.

I was keeping the revs up around corners which may have given me the advantage coming out of them. On the hairpins I'd shift down twice so I'd be over 10,000rpm coming out of the corner. Any lower rpm than that and it'd take forever to speed up

Not as good a deal as my TS185. Complete bike but not working, with a spare not working engine, wheels and several other parts for $21 (+ petrol for the trip to pick it up from Plamerston North)

Take it easy out on the track. I went too gun-ho last time and suffered for it. I'm going to take it easy and hopefully finish all the races this time
    nope Turners Auctions...
ts185 - i had one of those as my first road bike, many moons ago. cheep to run.

gun-ho. no, its all about points which means you have to finish..

sorry Ivan for taking over your thread...

Cool. Been meaning to go to Turners more often to get an idea of what comes up at what price

Our TS ain't going anywhere. It's mainly a parts bike for my Dads TF185 project. I would like to buy the rest of the bike off him and turn it into a rough as guts streetfighter

Yeah, this is why I want to take it easy. I don't want to spend another 6 months fixing a bike

    And bugger 'em

I'd like to get a good finish, but I'd rather come home with the bike intact.

    I'm really damned excited too

    thread knicking

hey while I have my TF apart what other mods should I do to it I have ported the barrel honed it got the engine completly apart and am looking at my crank thinking what can I do to it I dont understand what you mean Aluminum slugs in crank in what the crank pin? or the other drill holes,

Man 2 stroke porting is pretty easy I will post a pick of what I have done,
Thanks Bert for the Barrel myne is no were near the same as yoursbut I was burning the tips out on the die grinder so basically lifted exhausted port and lowered the inlet ports

The Barrel I am copying from has been keywayed in the exhaust and had inlets dropped myne has been widened and smoothed on the exhaust as well as lifted and my inlets have been dropped

I checked the gear box today that seems good I need crank seals and bearings now

    Sounds good ivan.

What piston are you going to get for it??

Remeber, it is still only a 98cc. That means you can bore it out to like a 115cc before you have to go to the 24mm carb.

    Check the rule book.

    Good luck
