    Is Jay a mechanic? No.

Can someone, say F5 Dave or Speedpro

Explain to me (and Ivan) how that taking the airbox and baffles out of a bike can make it run lean?

I am sure that if you increase air flow, it will lean out right?
And when it is lean, it wont let you hold full throttle.?
Ir it will rev really well in neutral, but not give any power

When it is rich, it will feel like it has the choke on, or it wont rev out? but you can hold full throttle?

Nah that was all done before I brought it and it does feel like the choke is on and you can hold full throttle it was rebuilt before i brought it and probably jetted it for a different altitude remember wairarapa is diff altertude to wellington

Yeah is there much of a diff in chassis's between ZXR andZZR 250?

Has anybody got a good idea on how to make a expander bracket for a carb so I can run a bigger carb on my AX I have a early RM80 carb round slide but has a big opening on it now this carb should work with the old AX engine just jetting will need to be sorted,

Now I dont want to alter the old AX manifold incase this carb doesnt work and I can run the original incase of an emergancy. Now I remember reading with four strokes the further away the carb the diff in power it produces I have access to a workshop to work in if I need to.

My thoughts were to actually try buil another manifold I havent ported the inlet side so the ports are the same size as standered.

    Any Ideas anyone

I tried to write this to sound sophisticated

Meh, they go fine with a standard carb until they are seriously ported. A bigger carb will stuff the bottom end of the rev range and you need a good bottom end with the 4-speed box.

Yes but myne doesnt have a bottom end power range it has to rev right up to top end and I dont care about being in the top end it will help outthe power range considering my chamber is a bigger etc and my exhaust port is ported I cant remember if Glen rode it when we started it Wont hit power band until engine is hot

Looks like you need to buy a new power band, Supercheap has them on special for Xmas.

Its harder to lose weight than gain horsepower.

He needs one of the cold run powerbands. The AX only comes with the hot run ones.

I hear they're hard to get for AX100's.
