.....cheer one of my best mates up?

His girlfriend of 7 months (only 7?) dumped him the other night and he seems to be taking it farking hard. He moved to CHCH cause of her and spent mega bucks on her ect. But of course, that means nothing now.

I have tried the old breaking stuff, running till you are shattered and drinking so that you are constantly pissed, but it never seems to work. Bit of background on the guy. He is a pretty strong willed guy but a bit too trusting at times. Not one of those guys that will kill themselves cause of a girl, but he is pretty shattered. A bit of history on me: Im not a sensitive guy and usually make jokes at the in appropriate time, so I don't exactly know what to say and do.

Any help would be appreciated cause he is starting to make me depressed. I can't even get him into a strip club (not that I would usually go )

What are you like a fast forwarding time? Time is really the only thing that'll make it better. In the mean time all you can do is be the mate that you are. Start being something else and things will get weird. He's your mate coz you are who you are. I got told this, (it's old but true)

Just doing things (anything) takes my mind off things. It's only when it's dark and quiet do I tend to mull over things.

True but he needs looking after during that healing time and may not need Snipers good intentions (not your fault Sniper)......mates are not always the best 'Counsellors'......but what you can do Sniper is just listen rather than find things to help cause that is the best thing you can do....doesn't mean you have to change either (a plus)....remember he doesn't want answers so listen when he needs that time and just be his mate the other times......he doesn't need diversions................like strip clubs......just conversations
