State Highway 22 from Drury to Ngaruawahia.
State Highway 31 to Otorohanga
State Highway 3 to Te Kuiti
State Highway 30 to Rotorua
From there - who knows???

Sounds nice but I'm at the south island. Have also a plan for Thursday:
Rangiora to Springs Junction on (7)
than to Westport via (65) and (6)
and maybe down to Greymouth on the coast.
The following days down on the Westcoast to Wanaka (6) and Queenstown. Than further on to Milford Sound and Invercargill back up to Christchurch and than -- hmm let"s see. (Have to see banks peninsula as well)
When I'm back in North Island maybe we can do that again....
Is anybody here in the South wants to join me for a while on that trip, let me know...

If you want a 2-3 hundred Ks detour, go towards Kawhia, then before kawhia take a left turn to Te Anga, then come out at Waitomo. Wicked ride there.
Just be careful.
