Well what would you do? Run through the streets stark naked at 350 miles per hour with bells on your toes?

Mate of mine is back from the UK at the moment. He's been over there for over 6 years now. Anyway, I told him about this track day and how much it cost and he nearly choked. This is way cheaper than anything he's been to in the UK. Cheapest was 80 pounds with the dearest 198 pounds. He started seriously scheming to try and get a bike and gear for the Manfield track day when I said it was only $40.

Folks there has been a question raised re the increased price.
This isn't a case of me suddenly deciding I want to make a huge profit.
JUST to hire the track has gone up from under $1500 to just over $4100
Its a brand new track and its no longer run by a club its run by a profit making company -None of the other fixed costs have really changed. Except Im paying for marshalls rather than having KB marshalls so EVERYBODY gets track time.
The hint I have is that Hampton Downs is goint to be similarly priced so I'd get used to it.
makes Manfeild look pretty darn good right now.

We've been spoilt for prices here (ok, not Puke). Unfortunately, we haven't been spoilt for quality as most tracks here are pretty average (Manfield being better than average). BUT, with Taupo being fully upgraded to International standard we'll finally have a top quality track. Fact of life - it costs.

$40 = goat tracks (except Manfield)
    OR
    $100 = world class

MT with all respect to manfeild--cos I surely do love the place--it needs about 100k spent on it to bring the track up to standard. You must have noticed the broken seal and patch ups on the surface.
The floods a year or so ago has taken its toll on the surface.

Judging by the price of other trackdays at the same track Frosty's price is still on the cheap side.

Is there a reason Frosty you haven't considered other NI tracks ?

yeah I did. Surface was fucked but it still felt like a really nice track to ride on as long as you stayed clear of the worst bits. That was only a problem on 1 corner.

Ninjaboy--Mainly cos its central -so everybody has about the same distance to travel.I wanna do one at manfeild but I wanted to work out any kinks in the sytem with TD1 and 2 --Boy have I learned a lot from them.
Pukie is a whole other kettle of fish --I have issues with the safety of that track as it stands

it would take a lot more than 100k to bring it up to standard, Manfeild are looking at spending over a million $$$$$ to do it over the next 3-5 few years, Ruapuna is spending 1.3 million at the end of the year to resurface the whole track and it is not even close to being as rough as Manfeild
