    urgent bucket help required

Can anyone help with fitting a mb50 gearbox into an mb100. I am trying to get the bike together for the manfield meeting at the end of feb. Does anyone have some pictures or drawings of how the gearing goes together. Have the feeling I am missing a couple of shims and a bush on the cog that sits on the cluster at the end of the final drive. confused. I am.

Do these gear boxes fit straight in? F5 or speedpro can ya help at all.

    cheers

they do fit, as does a few other gearboxs. but attached is a engine diagram that ight be useful ? prob not but thats the best I could find... If you have no luck try a google on 82 CR80 gearbox, they are very similer. there are alot of guys running these so the info / knowledge should be around....

They go straight in without the need for any modifications. Just make sure you get EVERY bit from the MB50 that has anything to do with the gearbox. I have a parts diagram and a spare gearbox or two somewhere but everything is in boxes in a big pile as I'm currently between workshops.

    hey thanks for the info.

I got the gear box with the engine that I bought. The gear clusters were wrapped in a cloth and when i took them out a couple of nights ago to fiit there seems to be a bush and possibly two shims missing from the final drive cluster. really need to see a parts diagram to suss it out.

anyone got a mb50 gearbox or motor that is stuffed that i can get a hold of?

    cheers

These may help, but in the specs its suggesting that the US MB5 is a 5 speed, I thought they were a 6 speed box?

MTs (trail version) are 5, MBs are 6, although some restricted overseas models might have been 5 for some dumb reason.

I have a parts diagram somewhere. Often the shims on the ends like to stick to the bearing. I've moved, but not far from where I was. Done a google search for the diagram?

hey. have sourced the parts through malcolm at econohonda. would be good to get a copy of the mb50 schematic though. are you able to scan and send it? otherwise can pick it up sometime.

    cheers
