    Love the Family Guy.
What I love about it is that it is like the Simpsons, but takes gags one step further. Diff to explain but if homer said "Remember the last time this happened"...FG would actually show you the last time it happened, and it would be bloody funny.

Nope, FG funniest thing on TV at the mo (that I watch anyway).

Scrubs is also quite funny...bit too accessable for me though.
"If life gives you a shit sandwich..." someone please complete this expression

Used to think British comody was easliy the best, all the shows already mentioned (and I'd add The Royale Family) but some American sit-com are also excellent, Scrubs, Frasier, Friends, Family Guy, Simpson........ remember MASH? The biggest problem I find with the American stuff is they either flog it to death (ie they don't realise when they've run out of ideas) or they mainstream it and "tone it down" to suit a wider audience.

For stand-up comedy there's Billy (of course) but Ben Elton has also had me in stiches. From America, has anyone seen thst "Blue Collar Comedy Tour" which is shown on SKY from time to time? It features four really funny American (southern) stand-up comedians.

Improv is good. Who's line Britsh vs American. Really like the black guy, Wayne on the yank show, but the dry some of the dry british episodes are priceless.

British humour any day, but for the sake of arguement I voted English. Sorry Billy.

There's plenty of half decent American stuff though.

Hi y'all! I'll be formally introducing myself in the new biker forum soon, but the poll caught my eye first!

I'm definitely a brit-comedy fan - grew up with the Blackadders and Monty's, Red Dwarf, Hale & Pace etc... Ben Elton I think is one of the most underrated live comedians out there - go and get his Motorvation video!!! Black Books is one of the best around at the moment... mmm fizzy good! And Green Wing... the first show I saw left me both amused and confused, it's an odd show, yet brilliant at the same time.

On the American side - there's 3 shows I can't get enough of. Scrubs (Dr Cox is my patron saint ), Family Guy, and Duckman. Bring back Duckman!!!

Good bloody grief, 58 posts and:
    a) Only one mention of Eric Morecambe...I'd love to be able to do that "Way-hay!" thing with the paper bag.

    b) What about Tommy Cooper..."Cup - spoon, spoon - cup, ah-ha". A comic genius and he died on stage too, untouchable.
