Grahameeboy you're right about preception, alot of people think just cause someone is faster/alot faster than them that that person is an idiot.

True but as I said it also has a good way of distinguishing groups which means that a real idiot is unlikely to tag along with you or the wrong group and have an accident because they do not have the skills....sort of like a reverse pshycy thingy.....if that makes sense.....

It's not unfair to call us mad buggers, you've seen me ride lol, but in saying that i'm hardly going to throw my life away, there is some degree of skill to being a mad bugger.[/QUOTE]

The main thing is that you are good honest bloke.......at least you are out in the open.....and your pizza's are ?:"P great too......

    Perception, yep.

Must say, it was quite good to ride with the "mad buggers" (tongue in cheek),
while I was with them that is cos, when the cop came from the other direction south of Tairua, we were doing a 'little' more than we should have been and he never stopped or chased at all. I suppose with a dozen bikes heading at ya, it gets confusing eh?

I didn't realise they had all pulled off at Whitianga and kept up a rather rapid pace to Coro in case they had stopped to pump another tyre. Thing is I was bloody lucky cos I thought they were all in front collecting any possible tickets. lol

Bloody impressive riding though. The 14's a little bit large to try and keep up in the tight stuff. The bolts on my pegs testify to the limited cornering capabilities even though it gets over a fair way.

Perceptions are indeed different. Apparently I'm a mad bastard because I ride a bike. Whereas I regard people who ride quicker than me on the road as mad bastards.

Greetings from Kwakaman. I am a v.good friend of said silver 10R rider, one of the 3 10R guys from the BOP who hook up with the gentlemen of the litre club. He is fine. A "freak" event caused the accident. Could of happened at any speed. What really pissed me off was the FUCKER who had the Micron pipe in his dirty little hands not more than 5 mins after the crash. A local farmer stopped him taking more. Hence my comment re the Öhlins gear being "available". When we find the scumbag, the fine lads of the Litre Club & the Crazy Crew will be happy to introduce ourselves.
As loosebruce has said, these guys (we) are very capable riders. Very courteous to cagers & fellow bikers. Why don't any of you KB riders come up to us & ask for some riding tips? Or join us? I was a chickened stripped rider not long ago, but can now scrap my pegs and sliders with the best of them. All from joining them and tagging along.
Say hello, don't be scared. We don't bite. We can just ride quicker than most. If you'd like too also, say gidday....
    Happy riding.

Hey, Kwakaman, I did enjoy the small part of the ride I managed to have with the litre blokes on last Sunday's Coro run and would really love to learn some tips.

Problem is I assume you need a full on litre style sports bike to keep up with them.

My 1.4 litre class bike is a bit big and heavy to even keep up with them but handles well considering. It actually does handle well in the tight stuff.

I have 2mm chicken strips and the reason for that is because I do ride my 14 to the limit, which is set by the pegs. If I push much harder the pegs are scratching hard and then the back end starts to jump a little which is a bit disconcerting in a fast sweeper. If I hang off the bike a bit more, I can corner faster and the pegs don't touch down so early and using lots of counter steering, I can change direction quite quickly.

I think I will need a GSXR1000 to stay with those guys and then a lot of practice as well, so I don't end up in the shrubbery.

Oh that is low. Bane did make that comment to me about the steering damper, but only in jest. Honestly, the only thing we could see that wasn't bent was that steering damper and maybe the throttle bodies (which we couldn't actually see).

    Hope your friend is ok.

Personally, I don't want to ride that fast on the road. Not in public.
