Bingo, traced the wire from the kill switch with my multimeter, found it was constantly earthed.... errr, thats not right, so I got the side cutters and clipped the wire leading to the coil earth tag (duh), and tested the switch again, this time, the continuity tester didnt beep, ok, all good, now, found the wire I believed to be the positive to the coil, and plumbed the kill switch wire into it, soldered it, and heatshrunk some insulation on, cranked the DR up, hit the button, and voila !!!!, instant engine stoppage !!!.
