    NZ (lack of) Justice System

Watching the morning news this morning, there was a piece about the guy in the Hawkes bay who's pleaded guilty to kidnapping and rape, they mentioned that it's quite possible he will get PD. Following this article was one about a property developer in Auckland who may be on his way to jail for cutting down a 100 year old Pohutukawa tree.

Now I don't condone cutting down historic trees unless there's extenuating circumstances, but you'd think it's a slightly less bad crime than kidnapping a woman, holding her for 24 hours, and raping her in the forest :spudwhat: .

How can we say we even have a justice system if we let things like this happen?

Oh oh, but its all sweet, cause the rapist was smoking P at the time - didn't you see the sister on telly bawling her eyes out saying that her bro doesnt do these things?

Its not his fault, the P made him do it.

And their plan will work too, so long as no one clicks that it was his decision to smoke P in the first place . . .

    My experience...

Yeah I have had bad experience within the court of law too.

Bout 6 or 7 years ago I was driving my 4WD around a corner at about 40-50kph and all of a sudden F@#k started sliding sideways (found out later that there was oil on the road) and I slid into another car.

Got summond to court and stood up in front of the judge and explained what happened. He gave me a $600 fine and charged me with careless use of a motorvehicle. I was a bit gutted about it but I accepted his decision.

The next guy (a Cambodian ) stood up and gave his case....he was pissed driving with no licence and crashed up the curb knocking a cyclist off his bike and put him in hospital. - Get this - The judge let him off everything and let him walk free as he thought he decided he had had a hard life and upbringing!!!! WTF?!!! Fucken hell that pissed me off!!!.

The secret is to dish out your own justice.
If it was my wife that was raped/tortured then I'd be going to court myself with a sawn off shotgun under my jacket. Wait for the verdict and if its shit, like its likely to be. I'd blow the fuckers head off........I'd do it gently though to avoid to much blood loss

But don't you see, it was only his poor upbringing, lack of education, and the fact that he's maori- giving him a poor start in life- that made him smoke "P" in the first place. Actually, it's all our fault and we'd better be quiet about it or we may be charged as accessories.

When they said PD they were referring to preventive detention, not the PD your thinking of. Preventive detention means a long jail term and your basically locked up until your no longer judged a danger to society, of course in reality it doesn't quite work like that because we do have a weak willed justice system. But he will be going to jail for at least 10+ years.

I'm sick of reading shit that P "makes" ya do bad things etc.
Worse hearing how farkwits are getting "off" serious or any crimes due to that claim.
P does not "make you" doing anything of the sort. It is a concious(sp) decision of an individual to do these crimes therefore they should be delt to fully. In no way do I advocate the use of meth either before someone gets at me...it's a crap drug and a total waste of money.
Pity some haven't seen the Light and scored a bike for their rush of choice

JUSTICE has nothing to do with it anymore.
We are becoming more like America every year where LAW and Precident rule.
Boy do WE NEED to stand up and tell our country to be sensible when handing out verdicts Not that they will listen though too many bleeding heart liberals excusing these actions and aportioning blame to others or circumstances.

PD in this case is PREVENTIVE DETENTION, not periodic detention. Like Indoo posted, it means they can lock you up for good if they choose. Facts people, get 'em right!!

I suggest you re-read the paper or listen to Morning Report:

    1. The Crown will ask for Preventive Dentention for the scumbag in Napier according to his Brief.

    2. The idiot who chopped the tree down has three previous convictions for the same thing.

What really pissed me off was the Woman convicted of having sex with a thirteen yo boy.

250 Hours community service under the new "non-sexist" law. What do you reckon a 23 yo man would have got for having sex with a 13 yo girl? 5 Years?

If thats not bad enough, the stupid slut was in Sunday's paper making excuses....

I stand corrected. I still find it offensive that he uses methamphetamines as a cop-out, and that the maximum jail term for his charges is 20 years.

With reference to the guy who cut down the Pohutukawa on his own property. The "Maori Activist" who felled the tree on One Tree Hill (public property, and an icon) got off with six months of periodic detention. Does masking his vandalism as a political stand exclude him from the same penalty as the property developer in question?
