    what Do You want

after reading some of these emails it is interesting to see
peoples views on where and what they want out of club 250.

Some people are happy some are not
we cant keep everyone happy this is true
but, please give me your thoughts on what you would like to see

do you want just a ride every 2 weeks
do you want a ride once a month
do you want more of a socia atmosphere where
we go for a ride and then out somwhere
    like tea, bowling, movies

    give me your thoughts people
where would you like to go for a ride?
what do you want to do

i think the main part is to have a ride where u turn up all gased up at the meeting point go to the location your going to and then stop for 30-60mins for talking and food. then head back to where you can meet up and do something or go home depending on the amount of time u have that day. hope that helps

    problem with your thought

the problem is if we did this the slower riders
would just catch up and the faster riders would be ready to head off
    again.

its fine for you guys that want to go at speeds of up to 130-140K
but what about the slower riders?

remember this is what the club was about
people just to get out and ride at there own pace,
250s starters and bigger bikes as well.

does this mean that anyone who does not like riding at 110K plus
    should not come?

Know where you're coming from there darren ... I was thinking I should stay away from some of these KB rides now I'm on 90 demerits.

If you're going for a nice slow-ish cruse I may join you guys
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

It's easy. If you want a ride that'll keep everyone happy just specify that it'll stay within 10kph of the posted limits. The rocket pilots will stay away and nobody on small bikes will feel threatened.

Me, I just get really frustrated on the FXR around other bikes, it keeps up to 120-ish but acceleration after that is a matter of keeping my head down and hoping the road stays flat.

It is easier to go at ur own pace, you will end up wit seperate groups of different level riders but you all meet up at a certain place and leave at a certain time say 30 or more mins after the last people have got there. In this time the fastest ppl who get there first can do wut eva, (say ur at top of the takas, the fast guys can go down and up one side again if they want or socialise for alot longer).

    Hey Darren,
Even though I am currently out of action (boo hoo!) my understanding was that the idea that you & Stu initially came up with was for the 250 club to be aimed at newer riders. Am I wrong? I thought the point of it was so that we could go out riding with others who were more or less at our pace and not feel pressured to ride fast or feel bad about being a bit slower.

Yeah I know everyone doesn't want to cruise, but putting a time restrictions on when we are supposed to be somewhere, how long we should stay and restricting stops could lead to unnecessary pressure. I think capping the speed could be a good idea, my little beast wouldn't go faster much than 120 anyway and to be honest at this stage I wouldn't want to.

I think it would cause slower riders (like me) to feel stink about holding others up and it could even create a situation where riders feel pressured to ride faster than they should be ie. outside their capabilities and we all know that, that is dangerous for eveyone.

Like you say, you can't please all the people all the time, so I reckon you should go with your original idea and there will be some that don't like it but that's cool, they'll find others to ride with

if u see i have said that the faster ones will have to occupy themselves because i didnt say they all get there certain time it was all leave at a certain time.

    responce

nothing has changed nor will it!

the idea is simple and straight forward everyone is welcome and yes it is for 250's learners and all. We stop allot for a simple reason the second person from the front stops and
waites till the end rider rides through, this is done for safety reasons we want know one falling off, or left behind.

there is no pressure to ride fast- this will never change!

for eg I was travelling at a average of 90k's and some times 70ks
if faster bikes want to go for it than so be it.

a point to remember is what James said also I saw 250 riders riding over 130k's not just the big bikes so lets not ever think that the bigger bikes are stopping us in any way.
everyones idea of cruising is different and yes a k capp would not work.

the first issue here is safety then fun!

    keep up the input

    Ahhhhhhhhhh...apologies for misunderstanding this.

However wouldn't "leave at a certain time" still cause there to be a time restriction and more so on slower riders? That's if you are meaning leave from the meet up point rather than the departure point..errrr, does that make sense?!

I dunno...as long as we all have good fun riding I guess that's the main thang

ah u all meet at the next point then a set time from when the last person arrives u all leave again is wut i was saying. so if ppl turn up at this point at 10 and the last person arrives at 10.30 and the time to be spent is 30mins u all leave at 11

    point takin

    all good points people,

and I agree with the part about staying at a point until
the last rider comes in and then make it say 30min or 45min
stop and then we head off again.

I will bring this up with Stu and Richard from TSS.

    any other remarks?
