    Australian New Zealand Superbike Champion.

I was wondering how people would feel if an ozzy took out this years New Zealand Superbike Championship.

Doesnt really matter to me, so long as it resulted in some close racing.

So long as the racing's good, I don't really mind - I'd prefer it to be a Kiwi, but if it's an Australian......well, after all, IIRC some Kiwis have gone over there and won (at least at Bathurst??)

Now there is a man with a good perspective.

Me I would rather see one of the KBers win so I will do my little bit in that direction.

Notwithstanding simultaneous slumps in cricket, Rugby, and League, the Aussies nrmally win enough. While it would be churlish of me to derive joy from their misfortune, it isn't exactly dampening my hanky.

Let's support our own guys so that the best man actually has a chance of winning

It will give the local guys a challenge. Those Aussies always fly when over here. It will mean more to our guys if they come out on top. Bring it on.

the local boys have a more intamate knowledge of the tracks...so giles will be on the back foot to start with...I wonder whos supplying his bike...or is he bringing over his gsx-r 1000 from the auz championship [he came 2nd I think]

but will be good racing all the same...might open the door for a few kiwis to get noticed by the auzzies that will be over here watching giles...

Mat Mladin (Aussie) wins the American crown all the time. As said; if the racings good, that is all that matters.

I heard that he's bringing over the same bike (K5 gixxer) that he raced in this years series, so bad news for the kiwi riders. Can't see the kiwi guys getting anywhere near him to be honest. Ree's was lucky to get into the top 10 in the auzzie superbikes, mostly around 12th to 15th or so. Giles was always up the pointy end in the top 5. Yeah the local track knowledge of the nz riders might be a little bit helpful but the tracks over here aren't that technical compared to the auzzie tracks. Will be some good racing to see anyway.

I thought the level of modification allowed for the Australian series was a bit higher than ours?

Our only hope is our local knowledge... but it doesnt take much local knowledge down the back straight of Pukekohe does it??
But heres the thing... nobody tell that Giles character about the "Hill'.
Dont worry me and Riff Raff will be there to take "care" of him when he falls off... he he.
But in saying that it will make the racing more interesting, and you cant stop them coming over. It may raise the profile of NZ Supers a bit too.
Also they dont stop Greg Murphy from kicking the V8 Supercars arses, or Shaun Harris going to IOM TT and showing them what for.
wasn't Ree's racing on a year old kiwi built bike???
