    bandit 1200 shock same as '96 gsxr1000?

My gsx1100g is a bit groggy in the arse. The photo is shock off an American '96 gsxr1000, which I know will fit. It needs to be the remote reservoir type which was discontinued around '96. Is the bandit one like this? Anybody upgrading a low k's one for an ohlins?

    1996 GSXR1000? I don't think so, Suzuki never made one. Maybe a 1996 GSXR1100.

That ohlins site is a big help thanks Winja. I'm after a gsf 1200 bandit pre 2001 when they went to piggyback reservoir.
It's apparently a popular upgrade for the bandit to go aftermarket shock so I should be able to get one locally but if they're throwing them in recycling bins in Japan I'm all ears Brian. No hurry.
    Insert witticism.

The '96 - '99 Bandit shock is shorter than the 1100 shock, so it'll increase fork angle and reduce ground clearance, not really a good thing. It's not a remote reservoir unit either, just a common or garden single tube shock with rebound adjustment.
The '00 - 05 shock is longer but still not a top quality item.

Hmmm rebuiding non rebuidable shock, I've heard of it being done but I've also heard of it not working out.
The stock 1100g shock is 302mm so the bandit one is a tad longer at 306 if Ohlins got it right. Equates to about 10mm increase in ride height. Plenty of rake on g's forks so turn in should improve a bit if anything.

Spring controls the load . Shims control the SPEED of the shaft movement up to the point where the shim opening is not enough to pass the oil trying to get through and the whole thing goes solid on you !

If your 105kg ,,you need a spring that suits your weight . you cant avoid that ,,,,no matter where you run to
