Ok shall we go to Coro then, meet up at the Bombay Macdonalds carpark (just off the motorway exit 471) at say 9am for 9:30 departure.

Darn that is a bit early even for me! How many hours does the ride take?

How about we meet at the Papakura BP at 9:30 am and depart at 10 am?

Depends how fast you ride I guess but if you just go through Thames to Coro township and come back the same way its about 300kms, if you do the whole loop its about 400 I think.

I normally have a few stretch stops on the way though as my bike is not the most comfortable to ride 2up long distance.

About 300 Kms sounds good.. will probably be a bit more for me seeing Ill be coming from central Auckland. I guess it will take 5 or 6 hours with strech/lunch stops, etc aye?

So how does meet at the Papakura BP at 9:30 and depart at 10 am sound? Conditional to fine weather ofcourse....

If you just do the 300km part you miss the whole reason for doing the loop. All the twisty bits are from the top around to the other side.

Yeah I would really like to, I will see if the missus is gonna come this time. If I go alone I will definitely do the loop but maybe not if she comes, she gets a bit achey perched up on the terror platform for long periods of time.

Would love to do the loop again but have a fair bit on this weekend with my parents moving up from Napier etc.

Yep, the bit from Coromandel over the top to Whitianga is a must for all keen bikers. Those roads are built for bikes and the round trip from BP paps, is 400kms as Fishlayer mentioned.

Would be keen to do this run most times if I'm free. Might be able to swing it yet, see how I go.

Built for speed, not for comfort
