Thanks Mental for the ride report, good stuff and makes it easy for me.
Very embarrassed but know bones broke.Just crushed both sides of ankle bone and done some damage to stabilising ligaments on both sides of ankle. 2-3 days with foot up and then physio.
Just glad bugger all damage to bike.
Definitely will be revisiting those roads in 4-5 weeks time as I think they will be just ace once all the loose shite has gone.
15 bikes in all, so good effort & pleasure to see guys bring their partners.
Thank you Bruce & mate from Aucks for making the effort and to Rick for doing the extra mileage....big day for you guys. ( Bruce that bike is a honey)
Well better get my foot back up or I will be in trouble

Well ride now complete for me. Taupo back up to Hams. and home by 4pm. Little bit of light rain, just enough to wash off the bugs

Look forward to the revisit WeeStromer. Dont forget to pit it in the calender.

Sorry about the mess up with which way we were going however I was told where to go .. ( not the first time ) so off I went so you could all catch up. .
Hopefully I will be a little more confident in the not so distant future and be able to keep time with the group soon.
Working at the Pig and Whistle (rotorua) on Monday if any of you are out and about.

Nice to see ya along there and by the look of yer bike and the knee of your riding trousers youve been on a steep learning curve fairly recently (it happens)... You were doing just fine on a difficult ride and drew many respectful comments from all for getting out there and doing it at your pace..
Now as for that bloody Hooligan 2much I figured he only needs a front wheel on that thing for parking as it doesn't get much use any other time (ok just kidding).. What a machine that Gixxer is and also ridden nicely well within its limits..
Ride with you both any day (soon maybe eh)..
    Cheers Bruce

Hi Guys I really enjoyed that ride, mostly because of the maturity about the ride, no stupid behaviour as is with most newbies present on the Auckland rides. I had a great time, I was content puttering along at my own pace which changed a few times but for me it was a no pressure and a responsible group of riders to ride with, I liked it alot.
To bad about the little incident Mr Stromer, but Im glad it wasnt to serious for you mate.

Its sad that a biker was killed in the same area we were riding in yesterday a head on with a truck apparently, very sad hope itsnt anyone I know.

I look forward to riding with you all again sometime soon, we got some great roads around the Waikato we should use them more.

Sounds like you all had a good ride. I was going to come along as I was down Arapuni way this weekend, ended up taking the car though, which wouldn't have been so good for a bike ride Actually saw you guys in Kihikihi on my way into the big smoke (Te Awamutu), looked like a good size group.

Some good roads down that way that I haven't explored on 2 wheels, I'll be riding the bike down there soon methinks.

Yup that sums up my views as well. My mate Grant (on the Blk ZZR11) who usually rides with the ulysses, was well impressed with the ride and really enjoyed his day out. As you probably noticed he is no slouch on that thing either, has a good head on him and is a pleasure to travel with..Think we will be seeing more of him in future..
Have to agree with Quasi there about the Waikato roads and believe it or not it aint that far to go for us Dorklanders..

    Mate!
What a ride - still buzzin' over it!

Better than the Coro Loop, me reckons.. More twisties, hardly any traffic, no rozzers and great scenery.

It was cool leavin' Rotovegas with four others, then picking up more & more peeps as we went, until there was loads of us; even better, we all got home!

New front Diablo Strada was great; stable the whole way 'round.. A few slips on shingle & uber soft tar, but everyone got those.

Was stoked on rider's behaviour; no-one did anything 'endangering' (other than to themselves/their tyres)...would def ride with you lot again.

Four of us came back via some great twisties, eventually coming out at Wharepapa South again; a few more fun 'twists of the wrist' and we were back at Arapuni Dam...know the one, Tony?

Great meeting new people, and top marks Olivia for getting back out there!

Got home at 7pm, and was thankful not to have to work the next day!

Only downer is that the bike "broke down" Sunday afternoon...will post a thread asking for help!

    Bring on the next one!!!

Just realized I still hadn't put a couple of pics I took up.
1st one is just after my little off, the 2nd is while we were all having a break at Kihikihi when some young guys went past in a van & 1 of them leaned out the window and yelled "why don't you guys do something cool!"
