Alcohol lowers inhibitions but P destroys them altogether. There are even P users who cant live with what they have done under the influence. I'm sure we all can remember the baby incident. Still should not an excuse for lighter punishments. Rather, what ever crime it is regardless of mitigating factors should have the same standards applied. A drunk driver runs over a pedestrain and claims the drink was the cause doesn't get it any easier nor should P users. IMHO The time MUST fit the crime or it is no deterent at all.

I blame the inconsiderate bastard who bought the expensive stereo and car that Mr Eagle had to steal and sell off to pay for the P in the first place. What the f**k are people thinking, filling up their (locked and alarmed) houses with such tempting gear that makes pieces of shit like this dickhead break in and go on a P fuelled rape binge!! Shame on you!! I'm going straight home and put my 5 grand Bose stereo onto Trade-me with a $1 reserve so I don't encourage this sort of behaviour

    Btw, to the judge....

hahaha i know some one who thinks like that, he told me i was a fool for buying a nice car and putting in a nice stereo cause some one just wants to steal it, about 3 years later it was stolen but insurance took care of it,he spends all his dole money on drugs and drink because people cant take that from him :slap:

    I'm here.
PD is great if it's means a nice long term. But at the very least he's pleaded guilty and spared the victim the torture of a trial.
Having known another PD (property developer) who bragged of poisoning his neighbours trees so that he could get a view for his new development, I think they should get PD too.

Yer, personally, I think that whole "the drugs made me do it" thing is bullshit, the simple fact of the matter is he should not have been whacked out on meth to begin with, and at the very least he should be charged with possession and use of a class A, and locked up for a bit.

You hear the cases where judges let women off charges of killing chronicly abusive husbands/boyfriends, and only in these sorts of situations would I consider the "temporary insanity" plea to be valid, because people in those cases arent subjecting themselves to a mind crushing experience, its being forced on them. Noone forced P down this guys arm/nose where ever the shit goes.

If this guy gets off light, there will be copius amounts of excrement launched into the spinning blades of the nearest windfarm, it will be bad indeed.

    ITS NO EXCUSE!!!!!!!
In fact it should be an agravating factor that leads to harsher sentences. The dumb fucks know what they are doing to themselves when they take that shit, the consequences should come as no surprise.

there was a very well-written article by Catriona MacLennan in yesterday's herald, on the difference between the legal system and the justice system. a few people here should seek it out and read it.
