No for example if you have the incorrect spring rate its possible to jack up the preload to get the correct sag settingsOriginally Posted by WINJA
But what happens then is the shaft will rebound with more force ( worst case it will almost leap of the bumps
Revalving will change the forces which the shims will open or close adding shims makes the stack stiffer removing them softer ( this is the quick version)
So yes you could run a softer spring , jack the preload up then run stiffer rebound shim stack ,,,all this will do is make the oil work like a basket and feel a bit harsh is certain parts of the stroke depnding on what shims have been changed
What was happening to me was as I hit the whoops the soft spring didnt handle the load , so the shim stack when solid in me and it felt like fell flat on me face withmy arms stretched out in front of me ..ie the spring couldnt handle the load the shims were at max deflection and the oil hydrauliced ( went solid on me )
I pick up a new set of springs today !!

mind you on the road you will never meet 4 foot pot holes!!

So I took my Mother (100kg?) for a fang through the Kawarau Gorge. Blow me down if it didn't sit a hell of a lot better. Wassup?
Insert witticism.
