    Any interest in Aprilia's?

I posted this in the general section but thought you guys might have some valid opinions

    http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...ad.php?t=23914

Is there much of a market for 125cc? I'm not interested in going insanely fast, it would keep up with a 250cc for what I need it for and looks fantastic...but would anyone else buy it and what would you pay for it?

    Cheers

6-probably grand at least until it was devalued by that honda symbol

WHY?????? Not that I don't like hondas but its an aprillia...

Wouldn't touch it myself, sure its as fast the 4strokers but its still more likely to cause trouble if it hasn't been looked after. I wouldn't buy it, be too scared to ride it properly in case I crashed.

how much longer will it take to afford your 600 if you chuck 6000+ at a 125? Keep your money until you get the full and get a cbr/gsx/636 etc

hi wildcat, I'd say go for it, if you can keep up with the relatively high servicing, also be prepared to lock it up EVERYWHERE you go!

I'd pay 3-6 grand for it? I'd buy it just to be different, but then I own a gpx so what do I know? haha

    Good luck.

having owned an RS125 Aprilia 1995 model, I may have some insight.

The bike was the shitz for a 125. It handled amazingly, was suprisingly comfy (i'm 6foot and 115kgs) and is still the best looking bike on the planet (bar a 916).

However, I found out to my cost even if minor things go wrong they cost a fortune to replace, e.g. a powervalve was eighty pounds and took three weeks to arrive, in the UK! Any engine parts cost a mint as it is a rotax. Other parts are expensive and take ages to arrive.
Cost a lot to run too. Buy only the best (read, expensive) oil you can find.

It was a fabulous bike to ride but very expensive. Put me off RS125s but not Aprilias.

If you really want one, i would suggest an RS250 instead. At least parts for the suzuki motor should be easier to come by.
The real mystery is how come that fat bastard Hurley has never lost any weight.

Most people who ride 2 strokes get burned by the engine work costs. I'm another one. And I'll never own another 2 stroke again. Don't think it won't happen to you, cause it will if you keep it for more than 6 months.

Go for a fast 250 fourstroke, and you won't regret it.
