    Question Amusing couple of events

Over the course of today I've had a couple of odd but rather amusing things happen.

the 1st one was recieving a Rep this morning by someone anonymous asking a interesting question, why they didn't just send a PM who knows?

but the second event took the cake, I recieved an Email from an off-shore motorcycle forum directly relating to my bike? the thing that gets me curious is even though i had seen this site while browsing around i hadn't actually signed into it. So what I'm wondering about is how did the person involved get my email (as this was a direct email & not a spam email, it should have been filtered out seeing it was an unrecognised sender).
and if it had been a visitor to KB they only have access to our general profiles & not our direct email addys unless its put up for messaging.

Has anyone had any similar incidents like the Email?

I'm sure there will be a geek here who can explain it, but it is probably similar to getting the "Make your penis larger" type emails you can get after visiting porn sites (or so I'm told)......

I'm guessing that your IP address can be linked to your email address?

yeah well the rep was an unknown quantity & was linked to a thread that i only posted in late in the life of it, think it was from someone browsing.

the email was just plain odd, it was directly sent to me from the forum ( bikez.biz) i'm not connected to it in any way. and it was directly related to my ZXR specifically. it wasn't spam & my email sercurity system picks up any spam related mail & either blocks it or puts into a seperate file, this email came directly into my inbox

I had an email from someone on the forum a few weeks ago asking me about his FZR1000. WTF do I know about FZR's I ride a ZZR1100, strange.

I sent him a polite (rare for me I know) pm asking why he sent me an email and suggested he post the question in the forum - no response. This particular person has zero posts still and hasn't been back since.

TWR, I'll PM you on how that can work.
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods
