Had thought about that, and a couple of times that was probably the cause. But over the next few days I made a concious effort to make sure the choke was off, and it still did it pretty regularly, so it doesn't seem it was just the choke. Sometimes it'd just cough and splutter, revs dying... and when I tried to give the throttle a gentle tweak to keep it alive it'd conk out. I've found that giving the throttle small tweaks while decelerating helps a lot, so that when I'm stopped, it keeps running.Originally Posted by imdying

How you doing these days, now you've got your bike? Had an off day a little bit ago...
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
we will remember them
Maybe a tickle on the idle stop then :/ Might find the carb is just getting old, and not metering as well as it used to. Maybe some grit made its way in with your fuel line troubles. I guess there's a pilot jet metering the low speed fuel, they're pretty tiny, wouldn't take much to partial block it. If it goes away, ignore it![]()
Pulled this out of my collection of goodies for you Redge, it may be of interest.
when i see you on Sat, i'll give the bike a once over for you. dicking around with idle screw is a temp fix & has to be done properly otherwise you just end up drilling it into the slide & that causes more grief than good
They look so much better with the fairing.
I played around with the idle mixture screw a bit on it.
Singles tend to be more temperamental than multis, with spitting back etc.

Sheeesh I can remember as a 17 year old boy kicking over an XR-600 and have it nearly catapult me over the bars when it kicked back....I think the NZ-250 is fine in that respectOriginally Posted by T.W.R
