    Auckland Motorcycle Show 4th - 5th Feb 06

Hi all went to this so called motorcycle show today my only comments are ripoff, waste of time, con job of mega proportions what a totaly disorganised peice of doggie dodo's I dont know who the Organiser was but Im gonna find out and steer well clear of any events he/she organises in the future. for fuck sake it was about like 5 or 6 mom and dad Chopper shops spread out in the events center like they could have held it at the smallest bike shop in Auckland and then that would have been too big a venue

Agreed. I had a feeling it was going to be bad but went along, should have asked for my $5 back.

Most of the bikes there were ones people had ridden in on as visitors.

I now know what the events centre looks like when there's nothing on.

I think it was $15 if you prepayed. I was surprised it was dropped to $5, then I went in. I guess they got a few complaints so dropped the price to $10, then again to $5. Wonder if it was free later in the afternoon.

We got in for free cause the organisers needed bikes inside the show, so they let us in so we could 'display' our own bloody bikes!!!!!!

All in all a shitty fucking show!!!!

It was $2 when I rocked up about 2.30. The woman in the booth genuinely looked suprised to see me, and I had to explain to her what I wanted: 'buy ticket, go inside, yes?'. I only paid because the security guard wouldn't let me in without. Although I could have strolled round the side and got in free.

Anyway, what a shower of shit. I've seen better 'bike shows' by wandering round, oooh, lets say AMPS. Or Motomail. Or Colemans, or Red Baron, or in fact any bike shop.

In fact, if I put my shitty VT in my garden shed, and stuck a sign on the door saying 'bike show', it would have been better than that.

So the Tauranga show was good?

The organisers of the Auckland must have spent some money, on the venue and some advertising (someone mentioned a couple of TV spots). Shame it turned out the way it did, could have been a good afternoon's wandering around.

I ended up going to Real Groovy and spending my money there

I have had more fun watching paint dry

If I had of payed to go into that so called show I would have demaned my money back. They let us in for free just so they could have some bikes in the shed. What a shame it had potential to be something good.

I gather from those I spoke to at the show that support for the event fell through. One woman from WIMA was heard to say that dealers & manufacturers are locked into 3 year contracts with the promoters of the Big Boys Toys and aren't allowed to have displays at any other shows during the contract period.

Very sad, but there were some very good displays of choppers, No. 1 Motorcycles in particular. Also featured was a lovely display of Royal Enfields and a real treat was seeing a beautiful pair of Honda Valkyrie Rune's which some people rode in to the show.

All in all very dissapointing but on the other hand I got to see some beautiful bikes up close I wouldn't normally be able to, and all for the price of riding my own bike into the showroom

Pics to follow once I've trawlled through my SD card.

I went it was alright, too many choppers though, none of this "bring your own bike coz we dont have enought" bullshit
Most of the bikes were choppers, all in show condition, the worst thing there was a gang members new model camaro ss, they forgot to clean the front which had bird crap on it :slap: . There was the new daytona 955i there too , and a monster which didnt look too bad, customised of course, there were one of the tamaki brothers and his son doing airbrushing,

Maybe KB should do the next Auckland bike show
