The Police always seem to wear it when there's not a lot else happening.
if the plebs were not addicted to the news, the crews would not be there.

    bollocks.
Since when did low pay absolve a worker from taking a job seriously?
Would you accept salmonella because a KFC worker is paid minimum wage?

The article said she was partly to blame for the first attack... But equally so was the other owner, who obviously learnt nothing from this and allowed his dog to roam again.

The second attack was in her own kitchen. If a neighbours dog came in to my kitchen and attacked my pet I would put it down on the spot. My kid is here too and smaller than the dog.

Don't get me wrong, I love dogs, but stray, untrained and vicious dogs show a total lack of responsibility on the owners part.

Training is cheap and effective, so is properly fencing your property. People that aren't prepared to put in the effort to train and restrain them don't deserve them.

Well said. A voice in the wilderness CAN have something sensible to say.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Why do people continue to own such aggresive animals?

I remember seeing a Pitbull with a choke lock on an elderly ladies Labrador. The Labrador would have been toast if this Island fella with his little floor mop hadn't interveened.

The Pitbulls owner paniced and was nothing short of useless.

The Labrador dropped to it's knees and the Pitbull started ripping it's head from left to right trying to rip off the Labradors head.

This Island fella grabbed the Pitbull around the throat and dropped the biggest mother fucker punch square onto the pitbulls head.
The pitbull let go straight away, then started wobbling sideways, then blood started coming out of its eye socket. Dunno what happened to it as the owner rushed it away.

But lucky for the Labrador and elderly lady that on this occasion the aggressor got it's own medicine back - Island style!

The cop thing was incidental to the real issue of animal ownership responsibilities... If it has anything at all to really do with cops it is that they are just people like the rest of us. Being a policeman/woman for a living does not make you immune from human failings, people who expect the police to be inhuman would get a very nasty suprise.

Humanity brings compassion and understanding, don't underestimate these qualities.

I agree that there are way too many cop threads at the moment, I've done it myself.

Undeniably true, but if I forget to order a Ductile Iron Tee junction, and a couple of sluice valves for a major water reticulation customer at work, does my name end up in the papers?......no, but the poor buggers of cops are always, and I repeat always singled out for their misgivings. The cop is allowed some fuck up's, otherwise the police force would be it's own religion, as we could all worship the cops as "perfect", because that seems to be the expectation.

Cops who intentionally break the law, or exploit it, are a diff story.

Again, I don't think this is a cop issue at all. The media is taking actions in the context it wants to 'create' the story.

The media implied the cop had an honesty issue by spiriting the dog away.

However, I don't think he did, he has kids who love their pet, he made the correct choice and returned the dog to the breeder, much better than the other option of telling them that their dog was going to the vet to be put down.

It doesn't mean that the dog wont be put down, but it does mean he can tell his kids that their dog is back with it's mother, it's up to the breeder to deal with the consequences of any destruction order.

He only made the mistake of not dealing with the issue properly the first time the dog attacked, that's all. If he'd muzzled, trained and fenced the dog properly there would have been no issue in the first place, that is where the responsibility lies.

Whatever way you look at it being in the Police is a public job, it's understood and part of the job description and training. The media are the ones at fault for being crappy, that however, is in their job description and training.

Normal people like and respect the police, seriously, they do. The people who have issues are the ones that are told what to think by the media.
