FXR150 bulb changing

One of the bulbs on my fixxer has blown.

Got 2 questions, 1st is it one bulb for dipped and full beam?
cause the full beam works, just want to make sure it's not the wiring

2nd, how do u get to the bulbs? the manual doesn't say how to, i kinda have a rough idea, but thought I'd ask around

Both bulbs do high/low beam.

To change the bulb, undo the screw under the front fairing (that adjusts the lights) and reach in under the fairing, and the bulb housing should come right out. I can't remember if that will actually work as it has been a long time since my fixxer.

Otherwise the proper method is to put your hand in under the fairing, remove the rubber protector and undo the connector exposing the bulb. Remove and replace with bulb, connector and rubber protector. Check the keyed design on the bulb and connector as it will need to go in a certain way and turn to lock back in.

The real prick is the lack of space for your arm, it will take about 20mins maybe if you get frustrated with it quickly. I was a real bugger to do.

Got it done, wasn't hard getting it out, but a little tricky putting the the connector back in.

As posted above, both bulbs do high/low beam and have much fun taking them in and out.

If you bought the cheaper after market bulbs, your high/low beam are now switched
Hope you didn't mix original/after-market bulbs.
In three months time you'll be replacing them with genuine as all elements have blown
Then you'll remember that the genuine last 2 years or so and with some revert the wiring loom back to stock.
Oh and, VTNZ will quite likely fail your WOF ...

Keep your old bulbs, they will come in handy one day.

don't try to use halogen bulbs,it would probably look nice&bright but it is useless when ride on night or rain.use within 2-3 month and it will get burn..don't know why but i have tried it twice.right now i use the standard bulb(25watts) and it is still ok since now,start using it 4months ago..

25W? Christ. I thought the 30W ones in the rg were bad..
