I don't hate sleeping, but I do dislike 'down time' which in my book includes sleep. After speaking to a few other people it occurs to me that I get significantly less sleep then the average person. I will be up most nights until 2am, some nights earlier (by half and hour) and some a bit later. In all honesty I don't go to bed because I'm sleepy, but more because I feel guilty that I should get some sleep. I wake about 7-7:30 every morning (including my day off) and do not find myself lethargic at any stage of the day despite whatever I'm doing. I've probably been like this for the last 20yrs of my life (30 now).
So I average 5hrs of sleep a night, which to me now as I type this still sounds like too much to me. I think it boils down to me spending a lot of time at work, and when i get home there is so much I want to do. Catch up on reading, ride my bike, watch a movie, spend time on the computer, spend time with my wife and daughter when she stays, visit friends or entertain at home. The idea of going to work, coming home for dinner and an hour to do whatever then being in bed by 9 scares me. I love work, but I work so I can afford to do the things I want. And I want the time to do those things.
How much sleep do you get on average?
