    Dickhead Behaviour.

Went to see Fun with Dick & Jane tonight. Hollywood has run out of ideas, but Jim Carrey, Tea Leoni, and Alec Bladwin are good enough to remake a story about Robin Hood, Maid Marion, and Prince John and make it fun. Really takes the piss out of corporate excess and finances, and I guess you all know how I feel about that now.

However, we went to see it in Masterton, and when we were driving back to the In-Laws through Carterton, I noticed some objects in the middle of the road, well before Heather did I might add, and she was driving.

The objects were signs from the Caltex station South of the town centre. Non-reflective signs set up in the middle of each lane at an unlit section of High St, and it was pouring with rain.

I got Heather to stop and I jumped out to shift the signs, and as we stopped a Nissan Terrano drove out of the service station with its lights off, drove North and then parked in the driveway next to the Park. I moved the signs, and from the pitch black vacant lot next to the service station a voice called out, "You ruined our fun arsehole."

I yelled back, "Very f__king funny pencil dick", and walked onto the lot. Stupid I know but I was channelling Quasi. They ran off.

We drove off, and the next vehicle I saw was a scooter heading North. I decided to get even, so I swapped places with Heather, drove back into Carterton and as we got to the Park, the Nissan lights up and drove South. I managed to read the license plate (WA1296), and pulled a u-turn to confirm the license plate and make and model. Mr Terrano suddenly started obeying road rules, and eventually pulled off in to a side street.

I rang the Masterton Police from the In-Laws and they said that they'd been trying to catch people in the act doing that very thing in that place.

I hope they get the bastards. That scooter would have centre punched a black sign advertising LPG. You seriously couldn't see them very easily, and I only caught a glimpse when a car heading North went onto high beam, and outlined the signs. They would have done either no, or very superficial damage to a car, but a scooter would have been messy. Bastards. Small-minded jerks.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

Good on you for moving the objects and getting the license plate and informing the police.. Its all well and good having 'fun' but putting other people in danger to 'attain' that 'fun' isn't!.....

Good stuff Jim, sounds like adolescent behaviour. I hope they catch them before they do kill some poor innocent soul. You're a good samaritan mate!

People do some pretty bad things, I once approached a young guy who was letting fireworks off inside the local glass phone booth across the road from my house. It was 1.30am in the morning and all of a sudden I was awoken by explosions, i looked outside and there was this lout setting off roman candles inside this booth, so I got dressed and rushed over to stop him, unfortunately a fight didn't errupt and he walked away without causing any more damage, pity he didn't have a plate i could call into the cops!

What scares me about pricks like that is,if the scooter had hit these signs they would,ve sat there and laughed about it without regard to the riders wellbeing. This sort of shit is happening all to often these days, sounds like a job for a baseball bat in a dark ally me thinks.

Is that what passes for fun these days, chucking concrete blocks off overpasses and setting up 'man' traps on main roads? F*ck what is going on with these kids? You'd think that if they had a Terrano they'd be able to drive either to Masterton or Wellington for some fun - movies etc.

    Thumbs down

    Green for you, sir.

If you see somthing like this - a blatant hazard that you can easily do something about - and you don't do anything, are you as bad as the needle-dicks who created the hazard in the first place?

The 2 things supposedly going on in my area a while ago were the removal of manhole covers from the road, and glad-wrapping across intersections between traffic light poles (at say 3am).

The manhole covers one is just dangerous, but the stupidity of the glad wrapping thing is that they thought it was a harmless bit of fun - without remembering that there are road users who aren't cars! A cage would get a fright, a biker could die.

Very true about the gald wrapping. Even the absent man-hole covers would be bad for morale in a car, let alone a bike

reading that kinda stuff makes me pretty angry, I didnt even think about the manhole or glad wrap thing affecting bikes until it was posted.
I only posted this because of the global economic crisis
