    Owning your own road

I love this recent change to the sale of public assetts laws, that allows pedestrians to buy sizeable sections of public roads.
In essence this now allows certain members of the public to have a section of public roading that they can walk on, at any speed, in any direction, and not fear the wrath of those gosh darn rude motorists, who would normally be forced to screech to a halt, and sound their horns.

I was taught to stop look listen, and cross at a brisk pace, when it was safe, not to walk to the end of your drive, simply not look either way at all, then proceed across the road as if you had cast iron shoes.

Have people in your area bought their own piece of road?, and if so, regail me with stories of what you do about it when they obviously cannot produce the receipts to prove they own it. I have a few myself.

WTF, how the hell will that work?
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

Keep your receipt, you may need it for government-funded compensation when the land claims are placed on "your" road...

Wouldnt it be the same rules for roads on private land ?
The contents of this post are my opinion and may not be subjected to any form of reality
It means I'm not an authority or a teacher, and may not have any experience so take things with a pinch of salt (a.k.a bullshit) rather than fact

According to the LTSA, a road is somewhere a person may get to with permission or without. So proberbly yes.

Sorry, I may have overdressed that post with a tad too much sarcasm, and come across as somewhat serious. The age old saying of "do you think you own the road?", was taken by me, and applied to the scourge of pedestrians who don't need to hurry across the road/carpark, and cause you to alter your course/brake hard/swear lots.

Sorry, I spoiled that a bit with my wordiness, and stuff :P

The Fight Club boys are putting their money together to buy SH22. The plan includes tarsealing the road entirely, and introduce a few runoff areas for safety.

So far the pot has reached a staggering $2.43

Hopefully the plan will be realized by the year 2823

    Looking good......

You guys are too slow, I bought the entire Christchurch CBD in 1994 with the pocket money I made from mowing lawns. I plan to introduce speeding cameras every 5 metres so that I can make some money for beer, use roadworks to block off every major road during rush hour for the hell of it, and demolish all speed bumps because they are ghey. Then may as well introduce a ring road around St Albans so that Sniper is stuck there... FOREVER!!!

Can you buy tickets to look at him? Next time through Christchurch, will I have to book? Cheers John.
