    Anyone else into photography?

Hi all, do any other KB members have an interest in photography?

I live in central Auckland having just moved up from New Plymouth that has a lot of really nice scenery and was wondering if any of you guys know of any good spots up here to get shots of scenery/environment etc.

It'd be quite good fun going for rides for shots I think, and my flatmate is a really keen photographer, owning both the Nikon D70 and the Canon 300D D-SLRs.

Oh, last thing, if anyone's interested, some of my best shots are here:

Keep in mind I'm an amateur:P Constructive criticism is appreciated though.

Yeah, I have to admit I've taken the occasional photo too.

I have an OM-1 and OM-2 at home (lots of lenses) as well as a Canon-T90, and numerous other film cameras.

I gotta admit they're really taking a back seat to the digitals now.

    I'd love a 350D Canon though ...
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Mostly sports photography, plus time exposure/night stuff but I'll try my hand at anything.
I use a Minolta XE-1 for film stuff (I seem to never out grow this one).
Currently using a Minolta DiMage A1 for all my digital stuff, but I'm going to chuck it for a Canon 20D w/ 18-55 and 60-300 as soon as IM get more stock.

OK, if photography is Art - then art is as much about self as it d'object.
It's your 'vision', expression, interpretation and art. It's never amateur - it's yours and if they don't like it - fuck 'em.

    Nice pics.

I took photography last year in 6th form and I really enjoyed it - we only worked in black and white 35mm film. Dropped photography this year to take art design so have not had much of a chance to do much photography lately, would like to get back into it over the summer though.

You have nice nice pics in your DA gallery. I really like the one guy on there, his username is coxi - his work is so inspiring.

    Hi Shcabbeh,
Yes, I'm into photography also (Dad's a photographer). I have a Nikon SL reflex but can't remember the model number. It's flash tho'. Shame I've hardly used it as I need a backpack to carry it and prefer to ride with no luggage. We should organise a scenic photo run to pretty spots to take snaps. There are some great City panoramas from the Scenic Drive and you've gotta see Piha, especially at sunset. Happy snapping! SV1000 Gal.
