Saw a few of the 06 ZX10Rs at Paeroa. Not a nice looking maching. Headlights too small, pipes are just all kinds of fucked up but the funniest thing was they had had to cut the plate to get it to fit between the pipe.

Also on show at Paeroa was the K6 GSXR600. Still as mean looking as when I first saw pics of it. And also the 2006 R6. Fuck me that thing looks cool, and sounds mean as accelerating up Yamaha straight.

After checking out the 10r at red baron on friday, I'll have to give those exhausts the thumbs down. Looks like they were trying R1 style, but failed miserably.

I think the K6 gsxr600 exhaust looks great. Dont like the R6 one much though, maybe if it was black and blended in like the gsxr's one.

I've just read a report on this 'Masterbike' thingy often referred to.
What we haven't been told, was that all the riders prefered the Gixxer to ride.
A certain other slime green bike had a smidgeon faster average lap times and won on points.
Of course, being a nano-secong faster around a circuit that we'll never see, let alone ride on is hardly relevant to good old NZ, is it?

Remember this test is about the fastest best performing bike with 19 riders assessing them all in turn, on the Circuito De Jerez track in Spain, same track as Rossi's passing move on Gibernau last year, a good track.

A certain other slime green bike had a smidgeon faster average lap times and won on points.
    Lap times as follows
    1st ZX10 1.53.95
    2nd MV 1.54.46
    3rd GSX 1.54.51
    4th R1 1.54.519
    5th CBR 1.55.15

The Suzuki while not the overall winner won in the Engine ranks and the Brakes Rank and also won in the Survey rank ie riders liked it the most.
its just the as an overall package the ZX10 is the faster bike...... again, third year running. Make of it what you will but this is about the most extreme test that is done and as far as Im concerned its fact. Next year if ZX!) isnt the winner I will acept it also by the way.

Of course, being a nano-secong faster around a circuit that we'll never see, let alone ride on is hardly relevant to good old NZ, is it?
no, but its a good indicator of the best bike available isnt it?

There was a black 06 ZX10r parked in my garage last week. Had a visit from a crazy boy from up north. Nice, real nice.
