Thread: Hamilton get V8s

I don't know why geenie lefties are always blamed for this stuff.I think the people who stop this sort of stuff, and Western Springs are the total opposite....they are money people, and have a vestive interest in keeping their money, and making much more.Motor racing upsets the cash flow, unless they can make money out of it,they will stop it.I'd consider them right wing.

I wouldn't call people living in Western Springs rich.

They want to be rich. And I think Western Springs has moved out of the cheap housing/flats status it used to have....I certainly can't afford a house in the surrounding area.

Oh that's right, I forgot this is NZ. Yeah those rich bastards. They never contribute anything at all and hold back progress. They never invest in anything, don't employ people, never pay tax (well the smart ones anyway) and make NZ'ers lives miserable by driving nice cars. Yeah who needs em? They should either leave this country (that's already happening) or we should make it illegal to be succesfull. Everybody should earn the same amount of money and all be riding GN250's.

Left wing Government + Left wing Council = Latern Festival - V8 Race = BORING.

If they put their money making interests before people having a good time at the races...they can certainly leave as far as I'm concerned.

Personally I think its our duty as good responsible citizens of Hamilton, to turn up to the public consultation meetings and politely and calmy disuade anyone from protesting against this wonderful event.

Or we could just turn up and beat 7 shades of shit out of the protestors.

    This on xtra:

Hamilton City Council is starting to contact Frankton residents who may be affected by a proposed V8 Supercar race circuit, but an Auckland group is disputing the city's claim to have the event sewn up.

Mayor Michael Redman says the council has secured a seven year deal to run the race from 2008, subject to resource consent.

He expects to discuss the issues widely with residents who object. Auckland City and Wellington missed out in hosting the series because of resource consent issues.

However, a group which wants to use the Whenuapai air base in west Auckland for the event claims they are still holding negotiations with organisers Avesco, and are further down the track in ironing out the details than Hamilton.

Spokesman Pete Sinton says his group has Government consent to use the airport and does not need resource consent.

    I think it ROCKS.

Teach Auckland (us) to be too tree huggy ("no no no = don't touch the trees on Queen St... impeding traffic is what they do best")

Bloody decisions by committee piss me off. Auckland didn't have the balls to say yes - and now lets work out a way to push it through the RMA consent process.

Just do it. Sign up, piss a few people off and reap the rewards. It doesn't matter what you do, you're always going to piss a few people off - so why bother asking them what they think about it?

If you were elcted to power you have the backing of the majority. I thought that's the way it worked... or did I miss something?

    A race around an airport...

"down the backstraight (runway #1) ... onto the taxiway... onto the OTHER backstraight (runway #2), onto the other taxiway... and backonto the first runway."

    Racing in ractangles... yay...

No you got it right. Unfortunately the majority of Aucklander's are tree hugging, left wingers hence we got stuck with Dick Hubbard another tree hugging, left winger. Oh joy, what a fun place.
