I think most of the guys who do a runner and get away with it...aren't really doing a runner,it's just in their own mind...it wasn't really a chase.Real chases are for real, and the runner seldom gets away.
Ya know you've been in REAL chase when it's over and your arse has sucked the buttons off the seat - through your leathers!!

    I like Harleys!

I wave to all bikes when I can. I know it's stupid but old habits die hard.
There is no law that says anyone must wave or wave back. I don't care if nobody waves.
I just like to acknowledge other riders and Harley riders "do" wave back.
I haven't got enough biking years left to worry about shit like that. Cheers john.

Of course I don't condone their activities.
Motu, Im not saying I would do it, just that its obviously possible. I've seen how some cops drive and they can't drive their big POS cars for shit.
the emphasis should be on some, cause there's some that i know that would kick the arses of many of the self-confessed runners on here. eg, formula ford drivers, motorcycle racers (who hide their occupation - for obvious reasons), superkart racers, and those who have driven well over a million patrol miles in their time, and have seen/chased more than their share of idiot runners....

i did a little bit of DPS driving (like aunty helen's rugby match drive) when bolger was the boss/apec/chogm, and some of the driving i saw then was pretty classy. did you know a VR commy will do 120km/h in reverse?

back when I had my car I chased a few detectives out french pass......not bad drivers, but I still kicked their asses when it came to the twisties although its difficult to hussle such big gay cars.
Done a fair bit of driving/racing in my time too
Just read in the paper that the Harley guy got up to 80km/hr....far out thats quick.
And then gradually slowed till he was doing about 20km/hr and then fell off WTF?

    You're quite excitable arn't you

Reread post #35 on here. I'm not bitching about people not waving, I'm CURIOUS. My comment about not liking Harley's 'cos they're loud was supposed to be a bit of humour, but perhaps you didn't read it that way. But, if you wanna get your knickers in a twist that's your decision, whatever.

bumped into a couple of the boys using a laser outside our local school today - in a 50k zone. sat with them for a bit - 4 licence suspensions in 20 minutes! 2 of them mums on the phone at 95km/h past the school! cattle truck at 85km/h, and a disqualified driver. not a bad effort for 30 minutes work

and no - i was doing 52k - and i didn't see them til i was well into the catch zone.

Hmm. Riding a $75,000 bike you'd reckon he could afford to laugh off the (possible) fine for his bad rear tail light.
(Or was part of the bike's $75,000 value accounted for by $50,000 worth of dope under the seat ... hence the runner?)
