I love that song! (The Cake version)

    Here are mine :
Boys of Summer - The Ataris (Don Henley?)
I Remember You - The Ataris (Skid Row?)
99 Red Balloons - Goldfinger (Nena?)
Come Undone - Homegrown (Duran Duran?)
The Glory of Love - A Newfound Glory (Peter Cetera?)
Tainted Love - The Living End (Soft Cell?)

And Less Than Jake covered the entire Grease musical soundtrack, very cool.

That's called negative reinforcement, I believe in the positive version....go and buy some music from before you were born and you'll get some green scooby snax.

Biggest crack-up I've had due ta a cover:
Young Bro (in his late teens/early 20's) and his mates were happily head banging to Motley Crew, when their version of "Anarchy" came on. Old Bro 'n' I just cracked up (we had both lessened to a bit of "Punk" on our younger days). When young Bro ask why, we told him ta wait there and we'll put the real "Anarchy" on. Old bro got the old Sex Pistols' "Never Mind The Bollocks" out, blowed the dust off, and gave them "Anarchy" how it should be played. Raw. The "Heavy Metalers" were fairly tame after that

Cradle of Filth (lol?) - Hallowed Be Thy Name (Maiden)
Nightwish - Phantom Of The Opera (does that even count??)
Vanessa-Mae - Classical Gas (Mason Williams. Her version fucking KICKS ARSE)
Joe Satriani - Four Seasons (Vivaldi)

    and as previously mentioned:

COB - Rebell Yell (Billy Idol)
Norther - The Final Countdown (Europe. This cover was actually done by Norther, not Bodom, it's just known on P2P networks as a Bodom track. Norther does sound a hell of a lot like COB though.)

hXc on drums-sound check for a gig they played last night. The wind blew all night, even blew the speaker over, which just missed the keyboard player! And it was FREEZING cold, but a great night had by all.

Bjork & PJ Harvey did an excellent cover of the Strolling Bones song Satisfaction a few years ago at some award show. Best version of that song I ever heard.

Both very good bands! Extremely good live too. It seems that the Americans have something on us there. Their level of playing live is a lot better. Comaparing those bands with the likes of Mumsdollar etc...It's just a joke. They are in a whole other league.

I have seen both those bands at Parachute and I was amazed. Very good.
