Did they run the modern sidecars and if they did can anyone tell me who won?

Stroud and Shirriffs had a ding dong battle in the first Formula Paeroa...Shirriffs won...Shirriffs dinged the thou in the Robert Holden, so Stroud won the race and the trophy. 2nd formula Paeroa, Shirriffs was on the 600...
Chris Haldane had a bad dose of flue - his bikes were there - he wasnt..
Chris (two smoker) lost a battery terminal and didnt finish the first race.....KK went nuts on a bog standard engine in the FZR400....35th to 11th in the first race I think, and a bit better in the 2nd race. Frosty was not happy....

i have about 800mb of photos and videos fromm the S-bends (by the dog-leg in the straight) so will sift through and pull them out. Think there are some good ones of the racers i know (K14, TwoSmoker, and Frosty) sorry KK didnt know which bike you were

Also got some video of the 'Formula Paeroa' with the bikes coming down the main straight just before coming onto the brakes at 260ish-kmh

where opinion holds more weight than fact.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

It started out as a 650,but hugely modified - it has TT500 cranks,no more busted cranks for that one,but I hear he has to rebuild it often.I see in SPman's photo that Eric was on his street H2 (broke the crank of his race one) This is his street bike, complete with road tyres, not race compund - so although it doesn't look that fast,he's pushing it to it's limits.

We were miles away, enjoying cop free roads....although where we were I doubt if a cop has travelled those roads in years.Got a sunburned pate sorting out the Grand Canyon....

Some pics from the S's; KK, Frosty, Jason and also Gareth on bike recovery duty after the rider had gone over the haybales on the corner (he was OK fortunately). Added a picture of the Matchless and the swinger at full stretch!

We never made it to the grassy knoll as we found a couple of shady spots and didn't stray far!
