If you stop the cross entering then I'd bet the number of entries will drop off
You should be able to enter your bike in whatever class or classes it is eligble for

That's a good point of Frosty's. SH2 comes under the province of Transhit NZ, I doubt if they'd need much reason to be obstructive when it comes to non-PC activities like bike racing. I don't blame the organisers for obeying the letter of their resource consent.

Ohh and reckless-the issue with classic chairs and moderns being combined is the speed difference --as you can imagine in the tight sections.
Point taken Frosty but from what I saw the classic chairs where going Very well if you delayed the newer sidecars till nearly a full lap I wonder if they would catch up over only 6 laps. Have to look at the lap times i suppose.

I think cross entering is ok although I wonder what some of the guys racing the older bikes think of never being able to get a first because the newer eligable ones blow them off the track. But I'm not that well verst in the classes or rules.

And The organisers probably a few dedicated hard working people giving up their time for no reward making decisions under pressure as the time was disappearing on them b4 the silly resource consent time ran out ( my god this stupid law causes soooo much pain. Sack the government). Got it slightly wrong by leaving out a class that had only done 6 laps. Although I was speaking to a guy from a bike shop yesterday that made the point that they may have been consious of the fact that the manufacturers/shops etc would like to see there bikes running publicly where there is no such pressure behind the post classic class as their bikes r not being sold now.

    Oh well

    Multiple class entries

What about a limit of 2 classes for any 1 bike. Would cut the Motards down by one.

1 bike 1 class would have stopped Craig Shirrifs winning Wanganui F1 on his 600...

and why is BEARS still going? It is a racist concept and should be over...

Yes it is a shame that people had to miss out on races, both watching and participating. Handing back the roads to Transit from the finish of racing is a rushed job taking more than just opening the barriers at each end. Involves taking down the deer netting, picking up all of the hay bales and being swept, taking down speakers, camera cables and signage and 100 other little things. If they don't leave the streets in a good condition, Transit may not grant the request next year.

They work bloody hard for a year to get this to run as smoothly as it does. Jain, head orgainiser, has spent the last few months with cast on her leg and unable to get up the stairs to the office in the post office. Still dedicated to making sure that it happend.
Speed limits are just a suggestion, like pants.

What they are annoyed about is that the super motards had already had more races than them and yet were given another one at the posties expence.
I hear some will not return.
